摘要: Devices, systems and methods are disclosed for repairing soft tissue. The surgical system allows for the creation of tissue repair by grasping, aligning and sewing or fixing tissue. For example, this system may be used for clipping together excessive capsular tissue and reducing the overall capsular volume. The deployment device includes a central grasping mechanism and an outer clip delivery system. The clip embodiments may be single or multi-component (penetration and locking base components) that penetrate tissue layers and deploy or lock to clip the tissue together. An example of the system is used to reduce the joint capsule tissue laxity and reduces the potential for subluxation or dislocation of the joint by either restricting inferior laxity (anterior or posterior) and resolving or eliminating pathologic anterior or posterior translation.

摘要: Devices, systems and methods for fixation of tendon to bone are described. An exemplary surgical implant is a modified bone anchor that is able to grasp the tendon and hold it firmly in a bone tunnel. Once deployed, the anchor delivers lateral compression to the tendon, providing direct tendon to bone compression to facilitate healing. The anchor has different versions which allow it to be attached to the tendon prior to insertion into the bone tunnel, or be inserted between tendon arms when the surgical procedure dictates. The resulting tendon to bone compression allows for the firm fixation in a manner markedly simpler than traditional techniques. A modification of this anchor can also allow the anchor to grasp and hold suture. This variation facilitates the technique for knotless rotator cuff repair.

摘要: Devices and methods are disclosed for assisting in blood flow from a weakened or injured heart, particularly for pediatric patients. A low profile, multi-chambered implantable mechanism is used to collect blood from a blood vessel and re-pump the blood out with an induced pressure emanating from a fluid pressure source. The devices and methods described herein are easy to use and may be attachable to body tissue without use of suture anastomosis.

摘要: An implant and method for the repair of a tendon or a ligament along at least one load direction. The implant includes at least one first anchor portion and at least one tension member oriented along a load direction. The first anchor portion preferably has a larger surface area of engagement with the tendon or ligament to spread loads across more tissue. The tension member is preferably secured to the first anchor portion with an overlapping attachment. Tension on the tension member is preferably adjustable by the surgeon.

摘要: Fastening devices are provided that are designed to effectively close tissue as well as instruments for applying the inventive fastening devices. The devices are useful for closing tissue such as mucosa in the oral cavity, oropharynx, hypopharynx, laryngeal surfaces, oronasopharynx, or other mucosal tissues. In particular, uvulopalatopharyngoplasty (UPPP), uvulopalatal flap (UPF) technique, and tonsillectomy can be assisted using the inventive system. Embodiments also provide methods of using the fastening devices and/or instruments, and kits including the fastening devices.

摘要: The device (1) comprises a first snare (10) and a second snare (20), each of these snares comprising a contractable hollow elongated body (11, 21) which defines a longitudinal central axis (X10, X20) and which reduces its cross section when two opposed first (12, 22) and second (13, 23) ends thereof are axially moved away from each other. The first end (12) of the first snare (10) and the first end (22) of the second snare (20) are each open and adapted to be fitted and tightened around, respectively, two stumps (T1, T2) of a soft tissue (T) to be repaired. 摘要: The implant (20) is shaped to generally mimic the form of the trapezium (12), or portions thereof. For example, the implant optionally defines a first metacarpal projection (32) and a second metacarpal projection (34) spaced from the first metacarpal projection to form a C-type, or cuff-type receptacle (36) for receiving the first metacarpal (15) such as the first and second metacarpal projections extend along either side of the first metacarpal. The receptacle optionally acts as a support surface (36A) for the first metacarpal during articulation thereof. In some embodiments, the first metacarpal projection is configured to extend adjacent the end portion of the first metacarpal that is adjacent the CMC joint (10) and the second metacarpal projection is configured to extend into the space (19) between the end portions of the first and second metacarpals (15, 18), thereby helping maintain the intermetacarpal spacing between the first and second metacarpals. The implant may comprise an inflatable cover for minimally invasive implantation.
