There is disclosed an MnMgCuZn ferrite material which contains ranges of 46.5 to 50.4 mol % of iron oxide, 10.5 to 22.0 mol % of magnesium oxide, 22.5 to 25.0 mol % of zinc oxide, 6.0 to 16.0 mol % of copper oxide, and 0.1 to 3.5 mol % of manganese oxide. Advantages of an MnMgCuZn ferrite material that resistivity is relatively high and material cost is low are utilized to realize a superior MnMgCuZn ferrite material which is much smaller in magnetic loss than conventional materials of the same series and which has a sufficient saturated magnetic flux density.

The ceramic substrate has a main composition containing Mg2SiO4 and a low-temperature-fired component, has the coefficient of thermal expansion a of not less than 9.0 ppm/° C., and contains up to 25 vol. % (excluding zero) ZnAl2O4 or up to 7 vol. % (excluding zero) Al2O3. A dielectric-porcelain composition is provided as one being capable of being fired at a temperature lower than a melting point of an Ag-based metal and being capable of demonstrating a sufficient bending strength even through firing at a low firing temperature. The dielectric-porcelain composition contains Mg2SiO4 as a major component and contains a zinc oxide, a boron oxide, an alkaline earth metal oxide, a copper compound, and a lithium compound as minor components.

Specifically, there is provided a dielectric ceramic material including: main constituents given by a composition located in the region, in a ternary diagram of ZrO2, SnO2 and TiO2 shown in FIG. 1, bounded by point A, point B, point C, point D, point E and point F; and ZnO: 0.5 to 5 wt %, NiO: 0.1 to 3 wt %, and SiO2: 0.008 to 1.5 wt % in relation to the total weight of the main constituents. The dielectric ceramic material can include Nb2O5: 0.2 wt % or less and K2O: 0.035 wt % or less in relation to the total weight of the main constituents.

An oxide of a transition metal element having at least two valences less than 4 is contained in a spherical dielectric ceramic powder. According to a composite dielectric material using the dielectric ceramic powder, the electric resistivity can be made to take such a high value as 1.0×1012 Ω·cm or more while satisfactory dielectric properties are being maintained.
