摘要: A controller for use by a user is utilized to select media for playback by an entertainment system. A display displays a hierarchy of levels of options to the user. One level of the hierarchy of levels is displayed at a time. A physical dial is utilized to select an option on the one level of the hierarchy of levels in response to a physical movement of the physical dial. A processing device updates the display of the hierarchy of levels in response to selection of the option by the user. The processing device performs one of the following in response to the user selecting the option on the one level: (a) displaying a higher level of the hierarchy of levels, or (b) generating an instruction to cause media corresponding to the option to be played by the entertainment system.

摘要: A semiconductor device fabrication method by which CMOS transistors with low-resistance metal gate electrodes each having a proper work function can be fabricated. A HfN layer in which nitrogen concentration in an nMOS transistor formation region differs from nitrogen concentration in a pMOS transistor formation region is formed. A MoN layer is formed over the HfN layer and heat treatment is performed. Nitrogen diffuses from the MoN layer into the HfN layer in which nitrogen concentration is low and a work function is set by the HfN layer according to nitrogen concentration which depends on the nitrogen content of the HfN layer before the heat treatment and the amount of nitrogen that diffuses into the HfN layer. On the other hand, nitrogen hardly diffuses from the MoN layer into the HfN layer which originally has a certain nitrogen content, and a work function is set by the HfN layer according to nitrogen concentration in the HfN layer before the heat treatment. By controlling the nitrogen content of each layer and the amount of nitrogen that diffuses, a low-resistance metal gate electrode having a predetermined work function can be formed in each of the nMOS transistor formation region and the pMOS transistor formation region.

摘要: An objective lens drive device includes a drive mechanism for driving a lens holder at least in a focusing direction and a tracking direction. The drive mechanism includes a drive magnet provided with a magnetized opposing face in which different magnetic poles are disposed to be adjacent to each other via a magnetic pole boundary portion formed in a roughly U-shape. The drive mechanism also includes a tilt drive coil for driving the lens holder in a tilt direction and the tilt drive coil is opposedly disposed to the magnetized opposing face at a position where the tilt drive coil overlaps with at least a focusing drive coil or a tracking drive coil in a direction in which the focusing drive coil and the tracking drive coil face the magnetized opposing face.

摘要: A reversible-lid arrangement for a motor vehicle includes a floor panel having an opening, a lid member, and a pair of oppositely-arranged guide rails. The lid member is so sized as to close the opening, and has first and second side surfaces which are opposed to each other. The lid member has first and second projections which are formed on the first side surface and spaced away from each other with a certain predetermined distance therebetween, and third and fourth projections which are formed on the second side surface and spaced away from each other with the predetermined distance therebetween. The guide rails are so sized and spaced away from each other as to fit therein the first, second, third and fourth projections of the lid member. Each guide rail has first and second notches each of which is so sized as to allow one of the first, second, third and fourth projections to pass therethrough, and so positioned as to expose the one of the first, second, third and fourth projections when the opening of the floor panel is fully closed by the lid member. Thus, the lid member can be easily and quickly turned upside down without requiring much space.
