    摘要: In a case where a balloon is broken and a body fluid reversely flows into a feed/discharge tube during a suction operation of a balloon control apparatus, a pump is stopped by operation-canceling section after passing of a preset predetermined time, and the suction operation of sucking the fluid into a bottle is canceled. Thereby, the amount of recovered liquid in the bottle is limited within a predetermined capacity. Thus, even in the case where the body fluid reversely flows into the feed/discharge tube, the body fluid does not overflow from the bottle, and the body liquid can properly recovered in the bottle.

    摘要: An object is imaged continuously during a first exposure time and a second exposure time shorter than the first exposure time. Weights, one of which decreases monotonously and the other of which increases monotonously, are applied to first and second resultant image signals under the condition that the sum of the weights is 1. The first and second image signals that have been weighted are added up, thus producing a synthetic picture signal. When a luminance level is low, the ratio of the first image signal, which has been produced during the longer exposure time, to the second image signal is increased. This results in an image demonstrating a high signal-to-noise ratio. When the luminance level is high, the ratio of the second image signal, which has been produced during the shorter exposure time, to the first image signal is increased. This results in a synthetic image that proves a wide dynamic range, depicts a smoothly varying brightness level, and exhibits a characteristic of being seen as almost natural. Moreover, the first and second image signals are produced to resemble those produced during mutually different exposure times by controlling an amount of light incident on an imaging device or by varying an amount of illumination light.

    摘要: Using an endoscope system, a surgeon A holds an endoscope with a TV camera (hereinafter, an endoscope) and a therapeutic appliance such as forceps and carries out a surgical procedure while viewing a first monitor. A surgeon B holds a therapeutic appliance such as forceps and carries out the surgical procedure while viewing a second monitor. A video signal sent from the TV camera of the endoscope is fed to and processed by an image processing apparatus, and displayed on each of the first and second monitors. The image processing apparatus transfers the video signal sent from the endoscope to each of an image inverting circuit and a selector switch. The image inverting circuit inverts an image (laterally (to produce a mirror image), vertically, or vertically and laterally (180°)), and supplies a processed video signal to the selector switch. The selector switch selects a video signal to be supplied to each of the first and second monitors, which are display units, in response to a control signal sent from a selector. The contents of processing to be performed by the image inverting circuit and the video signal to be selected by the selector are designated using setting switches on an operation panel.

    摘要: An ultrasonic image analyzing apparatus determines, on the basis of ultrasonic tomographic image information on a body portion being inspected, the properties of the tissues of the inspected portion, and causes a lesion portion to be displayed on a color image screen or the like, thereby allowing a diagnosis. The apparatus enables appropriate parameters for image analysis which correspond to the object organ, a body mark, and the type of ultrasonic probe used, to be automatically set. The apparatus also enables the size, the shape, the manner of scanning, etc. of regions of interest (ROIs), which are provided on the image of the portion being observed for the purpose of calculating the parameters, to be set in correspondence with the directions in which the ultrasonic wave from the probe propagates. Accordingly, the apparatus makes it possible to perform optimal image analysis with respect to the observation-object portion, and hence, perform correct diagnosis.
