Abstract: This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to enhanced 60 gigahertz (GHz) preamble. A device may generate a frame for 60 GHz transmission, the frame comprising one or more fields to carry information associated with one or more station devices (STAs). The device may generate a modified legacy signal (L-SIG) field comprising one or more subfields for operation in the 60 GHz transmission. The device may generate a modified legacy long training field (L-LTF) for operation in the 60 GHz transmission. The device may utilize 56 subcarriers in the modified L-LTF in the frame. The device may cause to send the frame comprising the modified L-LTF and the modified L-SIG to the one or more STAs.

Abstract: Methodologies are presented that provide better uplink and downlink data throughput for cell-edge stations (CE STAs) in wireless networks. In downlink, two or more access points (AP) can work in concert to code a signal such that each AP sends a portion of the data during concurrent transmissions. To further enhance the data throughput of a CE STA, the channel access opportunities are increased. The CE STA is associated with multiple APs and installed with multiple low power receivers (LPRs) that are monitoring contiguous or non-contiguous channels. The CE STA can have LPRs monitoring each AP's operating channel. When an associated AP has a downlink data packet for the STA or can receive an uplink data transmission, the associated AP may send a low-power (LP) signal to the CE STA over the operating channel. Then, the CE STA can switch to that channel and trigger the downlink or uplink transmission.

Abstract: A device is disclosed, wherein the device comprises a memory and processing circuitry configured to determine that a first radio, connected to a first low power wake up receiver (LP-WUR) in a second device is to be powered on. The processing circuity may be configured to modulate a bit corresponding to a power on signal with an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol corresponding to data packet, wherein the power on signal corresponds to a signal that will power on the first radio in the second device. The processing circuity may be configured to generate a LP-WUR packet comprising a preamble and payload, wherein the payload comprises the bit modulated with the symbol, and the preamble comprises a signal field indicating the packet type. The processing circuitry may be configured to cause to send the LP-WUR packet to the first LP-WUR radio and a third device.

Abstract: Techniques have been proposed to transmit a wake-up packet at the central 26-tone resource unit of the IEEE 802.11ax OFDMA structure with a low-power wake-up radio packet within the OFDMA allocation. Prior techniques proposed to multiplex transmission of the wake-up packet with IEEE 802.11ax OFDMA PPDUs; leaving the RUs adjacent to the central 26-tone unassigned to function as guard bands. These guard bands are needed to reduce the impact of the adjacent channel interference on the LP-WUR. One embodiment transmits the 26×20 MHz/256=2.03125 MHz wake-up pulse at the center of (or in general anywhere within) the band (e.g., RU5) without requiring the nulling of the seven DC subcarriers. This moves the wakeup pulse inward leaving larger guard bands between the wake-up packet and the adjacent OFDMA allocations. This at least improves the LP-WUR detection performance and will allow assignment of more RUs to IEEE 802.11ax OFDMA PPDUs—Thereby improving overall system throughput and efficiency.

A device may establish time gaps between consecutive physical layer (PHY) convergence protocol data units (PPDUs) to optimize preemption opportunities for low latency (LL) transmission by one or more station devices (STAs).
