摘要: A process of forming a functionalized polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) material includes forming a saturated PHA material via a bacterial fermentation process. The process further includes performing an oxide elimination reaction on the saturated PHA material to form an unsaturated PHA material having a carbon-carbon double bond in a polymer backbone. The process also includes utilizing the unsaturated PHA material to form an epoxidized PHA material. The process further includes utilizing the epoxidized PHA material to form a functionalized PHA material. The functionalized PHA material has one or more cross-linkable functional groups bonded to a polymer backbone of the functionalized PHA material.

摘要: A process of forming a flame retardant monomer includes forming a hydroxyl-functionalized caprolactone molecule, and reacting the hydroxyl-functionalized with a phosphorus-containing flame retardant molecule to form a flame retardant-functionalized caprolactone monomer. A flame retardant monomer includes at least one moiety derived from a hydroxyl-functionalized caprolactone molecule and at least one phosphorus-containing flame retardant moiety. A flame retardant polymer includes at least two flame retardant monomer repeat units, each flame retardant monomer repeat unit including at least one moiety derived from a hydroxyl-functionalized caprolactone molecule and at least one phosphorus-containing flame retardant moiety.

摘要: To provide for a physical security mechanism that forms a complete envelope of protection around the cryptographic module to detect and respond to an unauthorized attempt at physical access, a tamper sensing encapsulant generally encapsulates the cryptographic module. The tamper sensing encapsulant includes a first shape actuation layer associated with an electrically conductive first trace element and a second shape actuation layer associated with an electrically conductive second trace element. The first shape actuation layer is positioned against the second shape actuation layer such that the first trace element and the second trace element do not physically touch at an operating temperature of the cryptographic module and do physically touch when the first shape actuation layer and the second shape actuation layer are thermally loaded. Upon first trace element and the second trace element touching, a circuit is formed that disables the cryptographic module.

摘要: A fuel tank containing a fuel and oil mixture is managed to determine if the fuel and oil mixture contains the correct ratio for a motor. The fuel tank containing a fuel and oil mixture is monitored. A fuel to oil ratio is selected for the motor. A combined viscosity of the fuel and oil mixture is calculated with respect to the fuel to oil ratio, and the temperature of the fuel and oil mixture. The combined viscosity is used to determine a predetermined range of the combined viscosity. The viscosity of the fuel and oil mixture within the fuel tank is measured as a measured viscosity. If the measured viscosity of the fuel and oil mixture does not correspond with the predetermined range, then a user may be alerted that the measured viscosity does not correspond with the predetermined range.

摘要: A method for generating cross-sectional profiles using a scanning electron microscope (SEM) includes scanning a sample with an electron beam to gather an energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) spectrum for an energy level to determine element composition across an area of interest. A mesh is generated to locate positions where a depth profile will be taken. EDS spectra are gathered for energy levels at mesh locations. A number of layers of the sample are determined by distinguishing differences in chemical composition between depths as beam energies are stepped through. A depth profile is generated for the area of interest by compiling the number of layers and the element composition across the mesh.

摘要: A method of forming an interconnect that includes providing a sacrificial trace structure using an additive forming method and forming a continuous seed metal layer on the sacrificial trace structure. The sacrificial trace structure is removed, and the continuous seed metal layer remains. An interconnect metal layer is formed on the continuous seed layer, and an electrically insulating material layer is formed on the interconnect metal layer. An electrically conductive support material is formed to encapsulate a majority of the interconnect metal layer, wherein the ends of the interconnect metal layer are exposed through opposing surfaces of the electrically conductive support material to provide an interconnect extending through the electrically conductive support material.
