Abstract: A surgical drape for a patient side cart of a teleoperated surgical system may include a body and an attachment device feature. The body may be sized and shaped to cover at least a portion of an arm or main column of the patient side cart. The attachment device feature may be connected to body. The attachment device feature may be configured to install the surgical drape to the arm or main column so as to cover at least a portion of the arm or main column with the surgical drape. The attachment device feature may be detectable by a sensor in an installed position of the surgical drape on the arm or main column. At least one of the main column and the arm may include a sensor to detect an attachment device feature of a surgical drape.

Abstract: A cannula mount for a surgical system includes pivotable clamping arm with a first feature configured to engage a second feature of the cannula positioned in the cannula mount. The clamping arm comprises a cam follower surface. The cannula mount further comprises a latch member movable between at least a first position and a second position, and the latch member comprises a cam surface. On the condition that the latch member is in the first position, the cam surface engages the cam follower surface of the clamping arm to actuate the clamping arm to a closed position in which the first feature engages the second feature. On the condition the cam member is in the second position, the clamping arm is free to move to an open position in which the first feature does not engage the second feature. Devices and methods relate to cannula mounts.

Abstract: A teleoperation system includes an input device configured to by manually manipulated by an operator, a first manipulator configured to support an imaging device, a second manipulator configured to support an attachment selected from the group consisting of: an instrument and a tissue probe, a display device; and a control system. The imaging device has a field of view. The control system is configured to receive a first image of a workspace captured by the imaging device; determine a movement command based on movement of the input device; and in response to a first determination that the movement command is for teleoperating the attachment while the attachment is inserted into the workspace in a first direction that is non-corresponding to a second direction of the field of view, cause the display device to display a second image indicative of a tip of the attachment overlayed with the first image.

Abstract: A cannula mount for a surgical system may include a body having an aperture to receive a portion of a cannula. The cannula mount may further include a pivotable clamping arm to engage the portion of the cannula received in the aperture. The clamping arm may include a cam follower surface. The cannula mount may further include a block moveable between a first position and a second position. The block may include a cam surface. The cam surface of the block may engage the cam follower surface of the clamping arm in the first position to actuate the clamping arm to a closed position in which the clamping arm engages the portion of the cannula received in the aperture. The clamping arm may be permitted to move to an open position in which the clamping arm does not engage the cannula when the block is in the second position.

Abstract: An instrument can include a shaft with a proximal end portion and a distal end portion, an end effector at the distal end portion of the shaft, and a transmission mechanism at the proximal end portion of the shaft. The transmission mechanism can include a driven input device engageable with an external drive mechanism. The instrument can include an indicator operably coupled to the driven input device and moveable through each of a plurality of consecutive positions, each of the plurality of consecutive positions being associated with a unique indicium of a non-zero number of available uses left of the instrument. In response to the driven input device being driven, the indicator moves from a current position of the plurality of positions to a subsequent position of the plurality of positions. The instrument can also include a device configured to record occurrence of a change in an environmental condition to which the instrument is subjected.

In an installed position of the surgical drape on the arm or the main column, the attachment device feature is positioned at a location in sensing proximity of a sensor of the patient side cart.
