    摘要: A low gloss polish formulation is described which contains at least a polymeric film former, a non-abrasive flatting agent, and a solvent. The low gloss surface covering polish formulation can be used in a number of surface coverings such as floor and countertop surfaces. The low gloss surface covering polish formulation is especially useful for surface coverings having a low gloss or matte finish. Methods of making the low gloss polish formulation are also described.

    摘要: A surface covering comprising at least one layer containing wear-resistant particles, such as aluminum oxide, is disclosed. Preferably, the wear-resistant particles are present in the outermost layer of the surface covering which is exposed to the environment. A method to improve wear and/or stain resistance to a surface covering is also disclosed and includes adding an effective amount of wear-resistant particles to a top coat layer or outermost layer of a surface covering optionally, with the use of a suspension aid. Methods of making the surface covering are also disclosed.

    摘要: Ultra-violet stabilized polyvinyl resins, such as polyvinyl chloride, are disclosed. The ultra-violet stabilized polyvinyl resins comprise polyvinyl resins and a stabilizer comprising a benzylidene malonic ester of 1,2,2,6,6-pentamethylpiperidinol or its derivatives. The stabilizer can be added to or dispersed within the polyvinyl resins prior to any objects or articles being formed from the resins. Also disclosed is a method to impart ultra-violet stabilization to polyvinyl resins which includes the step of adding to or dispersing within the polyvinyl resins, a stabilizer comprising a benzylidene malonic ester of 1,2,2,6,6-pentamethylpiperidinol or its derivatives. The invention further includes the addition of an ultra-violet absorber such as ethane diamine, n-(2-ethoxyphenyl)-n.sup.1 -(4-ethyl phenyl) to the polyvinyl resin composition.
