摘要: A module for a semiconductor chip is disclosed. The module includes a heat sink with a flat surface to which the back face of the semiconductor chip is directly bonded. The exposed face of the chip has an array of power, ground and signal contacts. A plurality of alternating power and ground bus bars span the exposed face of the chip. A multilayer ceramic is located on the other side of the bus bar array and has a surface proximate the power and ground bus bars with an array of contacts which correspond to at least the signal contacts on the chip. Power leads connect the power bus bars to adjacent power contacts on the chip; ground leads connect the ground bus bars to adjacent ground contacts on the chip; and signal leads pass between adjacent power and ground bus bars and interconnect the signal contacts on the chip with the corresponding signal contacts on the ceramic. A plurality of connectors emanate from the ceramic and are electrically coupled by vias or traces through the ceramic to the signal contacts for the transmission of signals to and from the chip.

摘要: A contact sensing assembly including a catheter including an electrode having a base portion mounted adjacent a head portion of the catheter body. A sensor is disposed adjacent the base portion for measuring compression or tensile forces applied to an electrode tip portion, and includes a predetermined sensitivity. The base and head portions include predetermined rigidity so that forces applied to the electrode tip portion are determinable as a function of the sensitivity and a sensor output. A contact sensing assembly also includes an electrode pipe operatively connected to the catheter body for movement and bending with the catheter body, and an electrode wire disposed in the electrode pipe and including insulation. A change in capacitance resulting from movement of the electrode wire toward the electrode pipe or contact of the electrode wire with the electrode pipe during bending of the catheter correlates to a force applied to the catheter.

摘要: A focused ultrasound transducer includes a first ultrasonic emitter and at least one metallic ultrasonic lens acoustically coupled thereto. The emitter generates ultrasonic energy that propagates along a beam path projecting therefrom. The at least one metallic ultrasonic lens is positioned at least partially in the beam path so that it can direct (e.g., focus, defocus, and/or collimate) in at least one direction (or along at least one plane) at least some of the ultrasonic energy propagating from the emitter. The metallic lens may be formed by extrusion, by molding (e.g., diecast molding or thermoforming), or by sintering (e.g., powder metallurgy). The metallic lens also advantageously functions as a heat sink, improving thermal performance of the ultrasound transducer.

摘要: The use of any micro-mechanical component in an ultrasound system is disclosed. In particular, the use of micro-mechanical ultrasound transducers, micro-relays, micro-switches and inductors in the transducer probe head, in the transducer connector, coupled with the system transducer connector(s) or anywhere else in the system. In an ultrasound system, micro-mechanical components such as micro-mechanical ultrasound transducers, micro-fabricated switches, relays and inductors permit impressive size reduction, cost reduction, signal-integrity enhancement and improved operational flexibility.
