    摘要: A user terminal is registered with a satellite communications system including a plurality of satellite spot beam transmitters; wherein each of the satellite spot beam transmitters defines a respective spot beam. A periodic oscillation of two adjacent satellite spot beam transmitters results in a change of geographic coverage for the respective adjacent spot beams so that the user terminal can be alternatingly covered by the first and second spot beams when the user terminal is stationary. Upon determining that the user terminal is alternatingly covered by the first and second spot beams, the user terminal is registered with a spot beam pair for both the first and second adjacent spot beams and the spot beam pair registration is stored in the user terminal memory. Communications operations between the user terminal and the satellite communications system may be terminated and later re-established, whereupon the user terminal reregisters with the spot beam pair registration stored in memory. Related user terminals are also discussed.

    摘要: The invention describes powders for use in the production of spatial structures, i.e. molded bodies, using layer build-up methods, as well as methods for their efficient production. The powders have the special feature that they have good flow behavior, for one thing, and at the same time, have such a composition that the molded body that can be produced with the powder, using rapid prototyping, has significantly improved mechanical and/or thermal properties. According to a particularly advantageous embodiment, the powder has a first component that is present in the form of essentially spherical powder particles, which is formed by a matrix material, and at least one further component in the form of stiffening and/or reinforcing fibers, which are preferably embedded in the matrix material.

    摘要: An arrangement for establishing an underground passage includes a first line of consecutive pipe sections which are pressed through the ground in a path which deviates from the desired course of the passage whenever the first line of pipe sections encounters an obstruction. A second line of the consecutive pipe sections follows the trailing end of first line, and a planing tool support carrying at least one planing tool is interposed between the trailing end of the first line and the leading end of the second line of consecutive pipe sections. The planing tool extends transversely beyond the planing tool support and removes the excess material between the actual path and the desired course, and the removed excess material is deposited between the previous path and the second line of consecutive pipe sections and cemented therein by the introduction of a cementing material into such deposited excess material. The pipe sections from the leading end of the first line can be removed and transported to the trailing end of the second line to be added thereto as the two lines are advanced. The planing tool support is coaxially mounted at the trailing end of the first line, and anti-friction bearings may be interposed between the planing tool support and the leading end of the second line. At least one cylinder-and-piston unit may extend between the planing tool support and the leading end of the second line.
