摘要: A game piece and method of game playing is disclosed wherein individual game pieces include a multi-piece base with scoring indicia printed on a top portion. The top is rotatable with respect to a bottom portion. A slotted aperture in the top reveals data that varies as the top portion is rotated with respect to the bottom. The variable numbers indicate capability characteristics of the particular game piece. In addition, the base includes slots for the addition of items that enhance the capabilities of the individual game piece. A plurality of additional items fit in the slots with each additional item affecting the numeric values of that character. The items may be dropped or picked up during the game thus permitting customization of each game piece as well as the ability to dynamically alter the characteristics of each game piece.

摘要: To achieve both a fast risetime and a desired flat top current pulse, or to be able to independently specify a risetime and pulse width (energy), a supplemental or “fast” voltage discharge stage (or multiple supplemental or “fast” voltage discharge stages) having a faster and shorter voltage discharge characteristic and a higher starting voltage relative to the main or “slow” voltage discharge stage is used in parallel with the slow voltage discharge stage. The energy storage element of the slow voltage discharge stage has sufficient energy storage at an appropriate voltage level for maintaining the desired flat top current throughout the pulse duration, while the energy storage element of the fast voltage discharge stage has less energy storage capability but a higher starting voltage for achieving the desired fast current pulse risetime. Preferably, a single closing switch is used to couple all energy storage elements to the laser diode to pulse it, although respective separate switches may be used to couple the energy storage elements of the various voltage discharge stages to the laser diode.

摘要: A method for transferring data over a communication link using a data rate and a voice modem not designed to provide communications at the data rate, includes generating, in a processor, a modulated FSK signal from an outgoing data stream. The voice modem, in playback mode, plays the modulated FSK signal over the communication link. The voice modem, in record mode, receives voice data from the communication link and sends the voice data to the processor, which demodulates any FSK signal that is present in the voice wave data to produce an incoming data stream.

摘要: A production information reporting/recording system is disclosed herein including a number of features to ensure efficient, flexible and reliable recording of production data in a manufacturing system. Such features include validating the content of event messages to ensure compliance of event report information with a standard. The system also supports caching IDs associated with particular aspects of an event message (e.g., a production request, a process segment) as well as a unique ID corresponding to the ID assigned by the production event database to reduce the need to access the database when assigning unique database IDs to received events. The production event messaging system also supports both asynchronous and synchronous transactional messaging between the sources of events and the production database service. Furthermore, the system supports including extensions to a base production message schema through the inclusion of metadata that designates a particular production server to parse and apply/store the extension information.
