摘要: A composition for making an elongated molded product which can be satisfactorily used without having to be painted. The composition comprises an elastomer comprising crystalline polypropylene and ethylene-.alpha.-olefin rubber (EOR), and 0 to 15 phr of talc. The polypropylene (PP) and EOR have a blending ratio (PP/EOR) by weight of 35/65 to 67/33. The polypropylene has a Q value (M.sub.w /M.sub.n).gtoreq.10 and a melt flow rate of 50 to 120. The EOR has an .alpha.-olefin content of 10 to 20% by weight. The proportion Y of talc and the proportion X of the EOR in the elastomer satisfy the relation: Y.gtoreq.-0.63X+34.

摘要: A damping resin composition contains: 100 parts by weight of a polymer blend of 40 to 70% by weight of a polypropylene resin and 30 to 60% by weight of a thermoplastic elastomer; and 5 to 60 parts by weight of an inorganic filler, the thermoplastic elastomer comprising at least one member selected from the group consisting of an elastomer having a Tg of 0° C. to 20° C. and an elastomer having a Tg of −20° C. to 0° C. and an ethylene-&agr;-olefin copolymer. Using this damping resin compostion, a vehicle rocker-panel molding, which is attached to the lower part of a vehicle side body is molded. The rocker-panel molding has a bottom section and a side section substantially perpendicular to the bottom section and having prescribed rigidity, showing a nearly L-shaped crosswise profile, in which the bottom section is thinner than the side section so that vibration energy generated on foreign matter's striking against the rocker-panel molding is forcibly converted to heat energy by the thinner bottom section thereby to suppress transmission of noise to the space of the automobile.

摘要: To provide a method for producing a molded crystalline resin article which enables a higher crystallization degree and to mass-produce the molded crystalline resin articles. The method comprises molding a molded resin article from a thermoplastic resin containing a crystalline resin followed by performing a heating process to obtain a molded crystalline resin article having a surface layer whose crystallization index is 0.9 or higher when determined by IR spectrometry. It is preferable that the temperature of the heating process is within the range of 20° C. lower than the crystallization temperature of the molded resin article to 30° C. higher than the crystalline temperature, and that the crystalline resin is a polypropylene resin.

摘要: A resin composition is disclosed, comprising a thermoplastic resin and a brightening agent, wherein the brightening agent is a scaly brightening agent having an average particle size of from 10 to less than 20 .mu.m and is added in an amount of of from 1 to 8 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the thermoplastic resin; or the brightenng agent is a scaly brightening agent having an average particle size of from 20 to 50 .mu.m and is added in an amount satisfying the relationship S.ltoreq.5A+15 (wherein S is the average particle size thereof (.mu.m) and A is the addition amount (parts by weight) of the brightening agent per 100 parts by weight of the thermoplastic resin). The resin composition and the resin molded product obtained therefrom give an excellent bright-feeling because the decrease of appearance quality caused by the extraordinary orientation of a scaly brightening agent is minimized.

摘要: A process for dimensionally stabilizing an article molded from a synthetic resin material, such as PVC. The molded article is subjected to a first cooling treatment to cool the article at a temperature lower than the glass transition temperature Tg of the synthetic resin followed by a heating treatment at a temperature higher than the glass transition temperature Tg and then is subjected to a second cooling treatment again at a temperature lower than the glass transition temperature Tg. Following such treatment steps, the molded article, such as side molding for automobiles, have less variation in dimensions and less shrinkage after molding in use.
