    Abstract: A curable composition includes a condensation product having a weight average molecular weight of 30,000 or less and a curing agent, the condensation product being obtained by hydrolysis and condensation of a first and secondsilane compound in the presence of a neutral salt catalyst. The condensation product also has a ratio Y/X of 0.2 or less, wherein X is the number of moles of an OR3 group directly bonded to silicon atoms of the first and second silane compounds, and Y is the number of moles of an OR3 group directly bonded to a silicon atom of the condensation product. The first silane compound is represented by R1—(SiR2a(OR3)3-a), and the second silane compound is represented by R4—(SiR2a(OR3)3-a).

    Abstract: The present invention aims to develop an aqueous heat-shielding coating material to which low staining properties are imparted to suppress a reduction in heat-shielding properties due to the reduction in solar reflectance caused by adhesion of contaminants in the air during outdoor exposure, thereby maintaining the heat-shielding properties for a long period of time. The above problem is solved by providing a resin composition for an aqueous coating material including: (A1) a water-soluble and/or water-dispersible resin; (A2) a heat-shielding pigment; (B1) an organosilicate and/or a modified product of the organosilicate; and (B2) a curing catalyst that promotes a hydrolysis/condensation reaction of an alkoxysilyl group.

    Abstract: A method for producing a composite resin includes preparing an organopolysiloxane by performing a hydrolyzing and condensing process on an organotrialkoxysilane comprising alkoxysilyl groups and a hydrocarbon group, and obtaining the composite resin by reacting the organopolysiloxane with an acrylic silicon in a reaction solution. The reaction solution includes the organopolysiloxane, the acrylic silicon, a water-soluble organic solvent, and an acid catalyst. The reaction solution has a solid content ranging from 30 to 55% by weight, and the water-soluble organic solvent has 4 or more carbon atoms. The composite resin contains the organopolysiloxane in an amount of 40 to 90% by weight and the acrylic silicon in an amount of 10 to 60% by weight, and the acrylic silicon has a number average molecular weight of 1000 to 9000.
