    Abstract: The invention describes a method of predicting a stabilization temperature (T∞) of a subject (8) with a heat-flow sensor (1) comprising a plurality of thermistors (S1, S2, S1A, S2A, S1B, S2B), which method comprises the steps of expressing the temperature development of the heat-flow sensor (1) as a stretched exponential equation characterized by a time constant (τ) and a sensor characteristic scalar value (m); receiving temperature measurement values (T1, T2, T3, T4) collected by the thermistors (S1, S2, S1A, S2A, S1B, S2B); estimating the time constant (τ) on the basis of the temperature measurement values (T1, T2, T3, T4); and deducing the future stabilization temperature (T∞) on the basis of the estimated time constant (τ). The invention further describes heat-flow sensor (1) and a temperature sensing arrangement (9).

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for monitoring an eye of a subject, comprising: a transparent carrier for being in contact with the eye of the subject; and a photosensor facing the eye of the subject for receiving light reflected from the eye of the subject and for determining a light intensity of the received light, wherein the photosensor is arranged on the transparent carrier; and wherein the photosensor includes one of: a plurality of photodetectors arranged in the form of a two-dimensional array and spaced apart from one another for allowing incident light to pass between the photodetectors to enter the eye of the subject wherein the plurality of photodetectors is arranged in a plurality of rows of photodetectors or in a plurality of concentric circles substantially covering the iris and the pupil of the eye of the subject; and a single large area photodetector covering an iris and a pupil of the eye of the subject. The present invention further relates to a system and method for monitoring a pain level of a subject comprising a device as defined above.

    Abstract: The invention describes a passive heat-flow sensor (1) comprising a contact face (11) for placement on a subject (8) during a temperature monitoring procedure; and a plurality of combined thermistor arrangements, wherein a combined thermistor arrangement comprises an inner thermistor (S1) arranged at an inner face of the sensor (1); an upper thermistor (S2) arranged at the upper surface of the sensor (1) and arranged relative to the inner thermistor (S1) to measure a vertical heat flow outward from the subject (8); and a lateral thermistor (S3) arranged relative to the inner thermistor (S1) to measure a horizontal heat flow along the contact face (11). The invention further describes a method of measuring the temperature of a subject (8) using a heat-flow sensor (1); and a temperature sensing arrangement (10) for monitoring the temperature of a subject (8) using a heat-flow sensor (1).
