    摘要: An air intake device of an engine has intake pipes connected to each of the engine cylinders divided into first and second groups to prevent the continuance of the intake strokes of adjacent cylinders. A first connecting cavity connected to the first group of cylinders and a second connecting cavity connected to the second group of cylinders are arranged in parallel with each other, for effecting supercharging by utilizing the dynamic effect of intake air into each cylinder. A first communicating passage is connected at one end to a longitudinal end of the first connecting cavity and at the other end to a longitudinal end of the second connecting cavity. A second communicating passage arranged on the same side as the first communicating passage is connected at one end to a side of the first connecting cavity and at the other end to a side of the second collecting cavity. The effective passage length of the first communicating passage is shorter than that of the second communicating passage.

    摘要: An intake system is incorporated in a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine having a plurality of cylinders. The intake system includes an intake manifold having a plurality of discrete intake passages connected to the plurality of cylinders, respectively, and two intake pipes, each intake pipe being arranged in such a way as to descend substantially vertically downwardly from a communicating portion where the intake pipe communicates with each of two groups of the intake passages, turns to extend horizontally in one longitudinal direction of the engine body and then turns back to extend in the opposite longitudinal direction of the engine body surrounding the discrete intake passages. The two groups of the discrete intake passages are connected to two groups of the cylinders which in each and the same group are not intended to be fired one after another.

    摘要: A multi-cylinder internal combustion engine having a plurality of cylinders which do not fire one after another and intake ports for the cylinders. A mechanical supercharger is disposed in an intake passage. An intake resonance passage having no enlarged volume space or chambers, which consists of a resonance passage part and a collecting passage part directly communicating with the resonance passage part, is connected to an outlet port of an intercooler forming a pressure reflecting portion. The intake ports for the cylinders are separately communicated with the collecting passage part by way of a plurality of independent intake passages. A bypass passage is connected between the collecting passage part and the intake passage downstream the mechanical supercharger so as to form a circular passage running the mechanical supercharger, intercooler, intake resonance passage.

    摘要: A starter-alternator of a vehicle of the type being disposed between a vehicle engine and a transmission case having a field pole member coupled to an engine crankshaft of the vehicle engine. Crow-poles are interspaced to form alternating N and S poles. A field winding is stationarily placed radially inside the crow-poles. A three phase stator winding is stationarily placed to surround the crow-poles, and a housing accommodates the stator-alternator elements therein and connects the vehicle engine and the transmission case. The housing is provided with an air passage for introducing fresh air into the housing so as to blow it toward the three phase stator winding in order to cool it, and an air outlet pipe discharges air inside the housing. In association with either one or both of the windings, a water pipe in communication with a water jacket of the vehicle engine is provided to circulate cold water therethrough.

    摘要: An inventive automated heat treatment system has a furnace for heat treating forged engine valves, a carry-in mechanism for transporting the forged valves into the furnace, and a carry-out mechanism for transporting heat treated valves out of the furnace. Each of the carry-in mechanism and the carry-out mechanism has a retention mechanism for retaining valves hung, and a transport mechanism for transporting valves to the furnace as they are hung. The furnace has heating means, groups of paired rails for supporting and moving the valves hung in the furnace, and a stopper for controlling the positions of the valves on the rails. The engine valves are maintained hung with their umbrella-shaped portions supported by the respective mechanisms throughout the automated heat treatment processes. Thus, the heat treatment of engine valves is done in a fewer steps than in a conventional system.
