摘要: Provided herein is a control system for a vehicle. The control system includes an engine including cylinders, each of the cylinders including a fuel injector associated therewith, a vehicle exhaust system coupled in fluid communication with the engine for receiving exhaust gas therefrom, a sensor coupled to the vehicle exhaust system to detect an air-to-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas, and an engine electronic control unit (ECU) communicatively coupled to the sensor and the fuel injector of each cylinder, the ECU including memory and a processor. The ECU is configured to store a sequence of operating states of the cylinders, determine, based on the stored sequence of operating states, expected air-to-fuel ratio (ATFR) value data, receive, from the sensor, actual air-to-fuel ratio (ATFR) value data, determine a difference between the expected and actual ATFR value data, and control operation of the fuel injector based on the determined difference.

摘要: An efficient internal combustion engine including a housing such as a cylinder block, cylinder covers and one or more pairs of working piston and auxiliary piston, moving in the working cylinder and auxiliary cylinder respectively. For each pair of working piston and auxiliary piston, the engine also has rods operatively connected to working piston and auxiliary piston, intake valve, operatively connected to the intake channel in the cylinder block, exhaust valve, operatively connected to the exhaust channel in the cylinder block, and two bypass valves located between the working cylinder and auxiliary cylinder. The engine also has a crankshaft that also functions as a camshaft, rod pushers for pushing special nozzles and valves, flywheel, Hydro-compensators and preferably a high pressure fuel pump (HPFP). No cylinder heads or separate camshafts are used in the present invention.

摘要: An internal combustion engine includes first and second power cylinders and an expander cylinder, and is configured to operate in an expander mode and a bypass mode by selectively fluidly coupling exhaust flow from the first and second power cylinders to the expander cylinder. Operation includes commanding a transition from the bypass mode to the expander mode, including retarding openings of intake valves of the first and second power cylinders to a LIVC position. Exhaust valves of the power cylinders are controlled to effect fluid flow to the expander cylinder, and opening of an outlet valve of the expander cylinder is controlled to a maximum advanced state. The openings of the intake valves of the first and second power cylinders are controlled to desired positions associated with engine operation in the expander mode.

摘要: A system including a combustion engine is disclosed. The combustion engine includes a first cylinder orientated along a first axis. The combustion engine also includes a first piston, fitted within the first cylinder, to move in reciprocating motion by alternately moving in a first linear direction along the first axis responsive to a first power stroke or a second linear direction along the first axis responsive to a second power stroke. The combustion engine includes a tensile band affixed to a first end and a second end of the first piston. The first piston is to exert a first tensile force on the tensile band in the first linear direction in response to the first power stroke. The first piston is to exert a second tensile force on the tensile band in the second linear direction in response to the second power stroke.

摘要: According to one embodiment, a drive device includes a first piston reciprocatively along a first direction within a first mount plane, a first crankshaft orthogonal to the first mount plane, a first XY separation crank mechanism between the first piston and the first crankshaft, which converts reciprocating motion of the first piston and rotary motion of the first crankshaft into each other, a second piston reciprocatively along a second direction symmetrical to the first direction within a second mount plane symmetrical to the first mount plane about a central reference plane, a second crankshaft orthogonal to the second mount plane, a second XY separation crank mechanism between the second piston and the second crankshaft, which converts reciprocating motion of the second piston and rotary motion of the second crankshaft into each other, and a coupler-synchronizing mechanism which rotates the first and second crankshafts in synchronous with each other.

摘要: An illustrative example method of controlling an engine of a vehicle, includes determining a target pressure curve for a cylinder of the engine for a first combustion cycle, determining a heat release model for the cylinder for the first combustion cycle, determining a mass flow of fuel from the heat release model to achieve the target pressure curve during the first combustion cycle, and automatically controlling opening of an injector of the cylinder of the engine during the first combustion cycle to provide the determined mass flow of fuel to the cylinder. The method includes determining a real pressure curve during the first combustion cycle and automatically adjusting at least one of the heat release model or the mass flow for a second, subsequent combustion cycle based on a difference between the target pressure curve and the real pressure curve.

摘要: With reference to FIG. 2, the invention relates to an opposed stepped piston two-stroke engine comprising at least a first and a second cylinder, wherein the air piston is a stepped piston providing a first air transfer piston that expands and compresses a first air transfer volume to deliver air from the first air transfer volume to an air transfer system, and the exhaust piston is a stepped piston providing a second air transfer piston that expands and compresses a second air transfer volume to deliver air from the second air transfer volume to the air transfer system, each of the first and second air transfer volumes having an air inlet for receiving air; and wherein the air transfer system provides fluid connection between the respective first air transfer volume of each cylinder and the air port of another respective cylinder, via respective first air transfer conduits, and fluid connection between the respective second air transfer volume of each cylinder and the air port of the other respective cylinder, via respective second air transfer conduits, wherein the drive system is configured, for each cylinder, to have a predetermined phase angle such that one of the exhaust piston and air piston is driven before the other piston, causing delivery of air from its respective air transfer volume to the air transfer system before delivery of air occurs from the other of the air transfer volumes.
