The present invention discloses a device for automatically inspecting the acceptability of the inner diameter and bending of pipes of the type in which a cylindrical gage is inserted and forced to pass through the pipe to be inspected under the driving force of, for instance, compressed air. The pipe through which the gage passes from one end thereof to the other end is accepted, but the pipe in which the gage is stopped is rejected together with the gage. A pipe to be inspected is located by positioning first and/or second pipe positioning means into a predetermined pipe inspection position, and then firmly clamped by pipe clamping means. A cylindrical gage with a predetermined outer diameter and length is brought to the firing position by gage positioning means, inserted into one end of the pipe and forced to pass through the pipe under the compressed force admitted into the pipe behind the gage through gage firing means. The gage discharged out of the other end of the pipe is trapped by gage recovery means and discharged onto a conveyor system which returns the gage to the gage positioning means for the next inspection, and the inspected pipe is automatically released from the inspection position and discharged out of the pipe inspection device. Thus the full-automatic, safeguarded and quick pipe inspection may be ensured.

The stereo imaging unit has a first imaging optical system producing the first image for the left eye and a second imaging optical system producing the second image for the right eye, and focal positions of these imaging optical systems are located far away from the intersection of optical axes of the imaging optical systems, viewed from the stereo imaging unit. Whereby, a large-depth space can be comfortably observed in a wide range and a viewer can observe an observation object without bringing about a feeling of fatigue.

On a bit-by-bit basis, mismatches are detected between each input bit sequence and a predetermined bit sequence and the detected mismatches are counted to produce a mismatch count. A first comparison is made between the mismatch count and a reference value to determine that a sync code is detected if the mismatch count is equal to or smaller than the reference value, and a further comparison is made between successively produced mismatch counts to determine that a sync code is detected when the later of the successively produced mismatch counts is equal to or smaller than the earlier one. The first comparison is repeated when the later mismatch equals zero.

A frequency divider for a timepiece function frequency-divides a reference clock with insufficient precision, which is supplied from a reference clock generation section, by a fixed value while the digital signal is in a frame step-out state. While the digital signal is in a frame synchronized state, the frequency divider variably frequency-divides the reference clock by using a phase correction signal for correcting an internal phase advance/delay, which is output from the bit synchronization section, thereby correcting a gain/loss in time displayed on a display section.
