    摘要: Semiconductive barium titanate having a positive temperature coefficient of resistance comprises a barium titanate semiconductor including barium titanate and a small quantity of a doping element, and at least one additive selected from among silicon nitride, titanium nitride, zirconium nitride and silicon carbide. The semiconductive barium titanate of this invention has a sharp rise in the variation of specific resistivity with temperature change and a large specific resistivity ratio in the PTC temperature region, and can be produced with high reproducibility, since a widely differing quantity of the doping element can be effectively added to barium titanate.

    摘要: Disclosed is a thermosetting powder coating composition comprising (A) a glycidyl group-containing acrylic resin obtained by (co)polymerizing monomers containing an ethylenically unsaturated monomer having a glycidyl group and/or a β-methylglycidyl group, (B) a polycarboxyl curative, and (C) an alcohol adduct of a styrene/maleic anhydride copolymer. Also disclosed are a cross-linked cured film of the composition and a process for preparing the composition. According to the invention, blending efficiency and dispersibility of the components of a powder coating, particularly those between the resin component and the curative component, are improved without changing a conventional production process of a powder coating, i.e., a process consisting of melt blending, cooling solidification, pulverization and sieving, and thereby a thermosetting powder coating composition, which is capable of forming a cross-linked cured film improved in appearance properties (high gloss, etc.), physical properties (hardness, scratch/mar resistance, etc.), and chemical properties (acid resistance, solvent resistance, etc.), particularly in scratch/mar resistance and/or chemical properties, and having a 60° gloss value of not less than 80, and which is favorably used for coating of automotive bodies and automotive parts, can be provided.

    摘要: A variable-modulus material is composed of a polymer whose constituent unit is a thiophene or pyrrole molecule having from one to three C.sub.4-12 alkyl side chains, or a copolymer whose constituent unit is the thiophene or pyrrole molecule and which includes in a main chain thereof a conjugated compound with a K-electron bond directly bonded to the above molecule, and at least one additive (in an amount of 0.5-20 wt % of said polymer) selected from halogens, protonic acids, and transition metal halides. It greatly decreases in modulus upon application of an electric field as low as 5-150 V/mm and restores its original modulus upon removal of the electric field. It is suitable for use as vibration dampers and shock absorbers.

    摘要: Emission computed tomograph wherein a pluralty of detectors surround an object to be examined so as to detect X- or gamma radiation emitted by said object. In front of each of said detectors there is provided a collimator which comprises a pair of main plates and a subsidiary plate interposed therebetween. The plates are made of a material capable of blocking penetration of the radiation therethrough and so supported as to be swingable over an angle sufficient to cover the whole of said object. The plates of all the collimators are simultaneously swung to the same side and at the same angular speed thereby to change the direction of incidence of said radiation on each of said detectors.
