    摘要: The present invention is intended to solve a problem which may be encountered during a transfer from a mode for searching a desired still image to a mode for performing actual reproduction during the process in which still image information is reproduced from a tape-shaped recording medium on which a multiplicity of helical tracks are formed for one picture of still image information, one picture of still image information and address information indicative of the number thereof being recorded in the multiplicity of helical tracks. The sensation of an operator can be made coincident with an actually reproduced still image, for example, by effecting such mode transfer by detecting and using a number adjacent to a desired still image number or by shifting the tape-shaped recording medium by a predetermined amount. Accordingly, it is possible to to search a desired still image rapidly and easily.

    摘要: In an image signal recording system for recording on a recording medium an original image signal corresponding to an original picture which is comprised of a plurality of pixels, the original picture is divided into a plurality of pixel blocks each consisting of a predetermined number of pixels, and image signals each corresponding to the associated pixel block divided are recorded on the recording medium in accordance with a first recording mode and a second recording mode which are mutually different in a recording format. Either of the first and second recording modes is selected on each of the plurality of pixel blocks and a recording mode information signal corresponding to the selected recording mode is generated. There are recorded on the recording medium, the first image information signal or the second image information signal formed and the recording mode information signal generated, on a multiple basis. Thus, it is possible to provide the image signal recording system capable of efficiently recording image signals while suppressing a deterioration of the image quality.

    摘要: A video signal recording apparatus includes a memory for storing a one-picture portion of an input video signal. An overlapping device gradually switches a first video signal, read from the memory, to a second video signal during a first predetermined time period, and provides an output video signal. A recording device records the video signal output from the overlapping device. A first manual operation member sets the video signal recording apparatus to an overlap mode, in which the overlapping device is operated in response to a start of recording by the recording device. A second manual operation member sets the video signal recording apparatus to an interval recording mode, in which the recording device is periodically operated to record during every second predetermined time period. A determination device determines the first and second predetermined time periods such that the second predetermined time period is longer than the first predetermined time period when the video signal recording apparatus is in the overlap mode and in the interval recording mode.
