摘要： A container having two compartments for keeping two materials in separated relation. When it is desired that the two materials be intermixed, an actuator carrying a pair of piercing pins is inserted into ports of the compartments until membranes blocking exit of the materials from their respective compartment are punctured. When these membranes are punctured the materials are received at a mixing chamber where the materials are mixed.

摘要： A stoppered vial containing a medicament to be mixed with a diluent is enclosed within a flexible I.V. fluid container. Mixing of the medicament in the stoppered vial with a diluent also contained within the flexible I.V. fluid container is accomplished by first, unstoppering the vial by manipulation of the flexible sides of the container; then second, causing the fluid to intermix with the medicament in the vial by compressing that portion of the flexible container holding the diluent.

摘要： A port structure is provided for a container such as a flexible bag for I.V. fluids which will permit the piercing by a piercing pin in a leak resistant manner. The port structure is fabricated with the usual piercing diaphragm positioned in the innermost portion of the tubular port. Unlike the usual construction of port structures of this type, the inner tubular member containing the pierceable diaphragm is not connected to the remaining portions of the port structure at the outermost regions thereof or adjacent the flange or connecting portions, but instead joins the tubular member at an intermediary position so as to create a standing port for receiving the piercing pin.

摘要： A tamper resistant cover for the port of a container for medical liquids which when applied to the port indicates that an additive material has been introduced into the container. The port cover is easily molded from a resinous plastic material and includes latch portions which fit into a latch bar with the latch bar serving as a means to prevent access with the latch portions so as to result in a tamper-resistant structure. Preferably, the latch portions are in the form of barbed sections and are guided by means of an inclined ramp into latch openings in such a manner that a compression fit is provided so that after the barbed sections are forced through the latch openings the barbed sections will expand to engage latch surfaces in the latching bar.

摘要： A method of visualizing the impact of security flaws or breaches in a network. A 3-D visualization tool that simulates 3-D space on a monitor interfaces with a security database which relationally associates security events with the network elements affected thereby. The security events are visually depicted in a first section of simulated 3-D space and the network elements are depicted in a second section of simulated 3-D space. Relationship lines are drawn between displayed categories of security events and the displayed network elements in order to aid an analyst to visualize the impact of security breaches on the organization. Various other properties of the network elements may also be displayed such as the role of the network device within the organization, and the business functions of the organization.

A metal ferrule for securing the stopper to the container has an annular top portion and an annular skirt portion for engagement with the exterior of the container.

摘要： A thin flexible fluid-tight cover of PVC is bonded to a rigid port of a diluent container which is to be subjected to heat sterilization. The cover includes an outer flange for bonding to a complementary surface around the port, and a removable section for spanning the port. The removable section includes a central flexible diaphragm portion and a cylindrical wall portion. The diaphragm portion has at least one annular convolution whereby the diaphragm section is axially expandable by flexing of the convolution. A tear line is provided in a frangible section which joins the cylindrical wall portion to the outer flange. The cylindrical wall portion of the cover is disposed adjacent the outer surfaces of an abutment wall on the port to provide stress relief against rupture of the tear line from stresses generated in the cover during sterilization. A narrow post element is located adjacent the wall portion for concentrating manual pulling forces from an attached pull ring to a limited segment of the tear line.

摘要： A stoppered drug vial forms part of a drug delivery system which maintains the sterility of the drug in storage, dilution and use. A removable, pierceable diaphragm is placed over the stopper which seals the vial. The removable, pierceable diaphragm is held in place by attachment to a skirt member which encloses and is in frictional contact with the upper portion of the vial wall. Access to the drug in the vial may be obtained by either removing the diaphragm and the stopper or piercing the diaphragm and the stopper with a cannula.
