摘要: The present invention relates to pharmaceutical fluids, and more particularly to a flexible container for aseptic transfer and/or mixing of pharmaceutical fluids. A biocontainer for the transfer of pharmaceutical fluids includes a flexible layer divided by a fold line into a front face and a rear face. The layer is folded about the fold line such that the front face and the rear face are facing each other to define an interior space between them. The biocontainer also includes a seam that connects the front and rear faces to each other to close the interior space. A fill port is also provided to communicate with the interior space. This fill port is intersected by the fold line.

摘要: A multi-chamber container of the present invention is divided into a plurality of filling chambers 11, 12 by a seal 13, and has a container body 1 with the chambers 11, 12 filled with respective solutions, and a cover 2 that covers at least one of the chambers 11, 12 of the container body 1. The cover 2 includes a pair of rigid members 21 that sandwich the seal portion 13 from the outside, and seal portions 22 provided to close the rigid members 21. In this multi-chamber container, the cover 2 is held when the filling chambers 11, 12 are not opened in therebetween, while being dropped easily when the filling chambers 11, 12 are opened in therebetween and the thickness of the seal portion 13 increases.

摘要: A medical container with an electrolyte solution stored therein is disclosed. It is formed of a resinmade container main body, a base solution compartment, at least one isolated compartment or connected compartment, and an openable portion. The base solution compartment is arranged in the container main body and is filled with the electrolyte solution in a state steamsterilized together with the container main body. The isolated compartment or connected compartment is arranged in the container main body, is isolated from the base solution compartment by an isolation wall interposed therebetween, and is filled with a bicarbonate. The openable portion permits aseptic communication between the base solution compartment and the isolated compartment or connected compartment by an operation from an outside of the container main body at the time of use. The openable portion is formed at at least a part of the isolation wall. This medical container makes it possible to store an electrolyte solution, dialysate or the like at a pH value close to that of the body fluid without inducing kidney problems, diarrhea, vomiting or the like due to acidosis or the like upon use.

摘要: The disclosure is of a method for preparing a stable, dry-packaged, sterile, nutrient composition which upon addition of sterile, pyrogen-free water is suitable for intravenous administration to a mammal, including a human. The method comprises providing the nutrients in a specific dry form and state of physical purity acceptable for intravenous administration, sealing the nutrients in a particular type of container adapted to receive and dispense sterile fluids and subjecting the container and its sealed contents to a sterilizing, nondestructive dose of ionizing radiation. The method results in a packaged, sterile nutrient composition which may be dissolved by the addition of sterile, pyrogen-free, water. The resulting aqueous intravenous solution may be safely administered to a mammal, including a human, in need of nutrient therapy. The packaged nutrient compositions of the invention exhibit greatly extended storage life and provide an economical method of providing intravenous solutions which are safe and efficacious for use.

摘要: A bag for the separation of components in blood by gravitational settlement or centrifugation, has an upper chamber and a lower chamber connected by a slender neck, there being access conduits to each of said chambers and said neck. The bag is so dimensioned that for blood having a normal hematocrit the interfaces between packed red cells and the buffy coat and between the buffy coat and the plasma will lie within the neck. The neck can then be clamped off or otherwise sealed to separate the phases sharply and to permit virtually 100% recovery of the plasma and the packed red cells. In a second embodiment, the buffy coat can be isolated and seals within the system opened to permit intermixing of the plasma and the packed red blood cells under completely sterile conditions. A special support makes it possible for the blood bag to be subjected without distortion to centrifugation.
