    摘要: A synthetic lamellar magnesium phyllosilicate has as the main component a composition represented by the following formula:Mg.sub.3 Si.sub.4 O.sub.10 (OH).sub.2.nH.sub.2 O (1)wherein n is a number of up to 5, and has X-ray diffraction peaks at spacings of 4.5-4.6 .ANG., 2.5-2.6 .ANG. and 1.5-1.6 .ANG., wherein the lamination asymmetry index (Is) defined by the following formula:Is=tan .theta..sub.2 /tan .theta..sub.1 (2)wherein.theta..sub.1 stands for the angle formed by the peak perpendicular and the peak tangent on the small diffraction angle side in said X-ray diffraction peak at a spacing of 4.5-4.6 .ANG., and.theta..sub.2 stands for the angle formed by the peak perpendicular and the peak tangent on the large diffraction angle side in said X-ray diffraction peak,is at least 3.0, the BET specific surface area is at least 300 m.sup.2 /g and the Methylene Blue decolorizing power (JIS K-1470) is at least 100 ml/g. This synthetic lamellar magnesium phyllosilicate is prepared by a process comprising subjecting active silicic acid or active aluminosilicic acid and an oxide or hydroxide of magnesium or a compound capable of forming said oxide or hydroxide under reaction conditions to a hydrothermal treatment.

    摘要: Synthetic stevensite composed of stevensite-type sodium magnesium phylosilicate of which metallic components consist essentially of magnesium, sodium and silicon. The synthetic stevensite is characterized by having an X-ray diffraction peak at a spacing of 16 to 26 .ANG. when treated with ethylene glycol. It can be produced by a process comprising hydrothermally treating an aqueous composition containing basic magnesium carbonate and a silica-sodium component selected from the group consisting of (i) sodium silicate, (ii) sodium silicate and amorphous silica, and (iii) amorphous silica and sodium silicate.

    摘要: An oxide or hydroxide mixture or coprecipitate having a three-component oxide composition comprising 5 to 45 mole % of SiO.sub.2, 35 to 65 mole % of ZnO and 0 to 60 mole % of Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 is heated in the presence of water to form a crystal of the fraipontite type.The obtained synthetic mineral has a fraipontite type crystal structure and has a high whiteness and a large specific surface area. For example, this synthetic mineral is valuable as a color developer for a leuco dye.

    摘要: Disclosed is a filler for a heat-sensitive recording paper, which comprises an amorphous silicate having a composition represented by the following oxide molecular ratio:MO:SiO.sub.2 =0.01:1 to 1.1:1wherein M stands for at least one member selected from the group consisting of calcium, barium and zinc, or a product obtained by partially neutralizing said silicate with carbonic acid, said filler having a BET specific surface area of 10 to 70 m.sup.2 /g and a bulk density of 0.14 to 0.30 g/cc and also having such a secondary particle size distribution that secondary particles having a size smaller than 4 .mu.m, as determined by the centrifugal precipitation method, occupy at least 70% by weight of the total particles.

    摘要: An orally administered adsorbent which, when orally administered to livestocks and men, is capable of effectively adsorbing and removing nitrogen-containing compounds such as creatinine and the like. The orally administered adsorbent comprises clay particles of a layered structure having a cation-exchange capacity of not smaller than 50 milliequivalent/100 g, wherein a suspension formed by dispersing the clay particles in the deionized water at a concentration of 5 (w/v)% has a pH (25° C.) of not larger than 7.0, and has a proton emission capacity EH calculated according to the following formula, EH=(B-A)×104 wherein A is a hydrogen ion concentration (g ions/L) of the above suspension, and B is a hydrogen ion concentration (g ions/L) of a suspension formed by dispersing the clay particles in a 1 wt% saline solution at a concentration of 5 (w/v)%, of not smaller than 0.5.
