摘要： A branched polycarbonate resin suitable for making containers is disclosed. The polycarbonate is characterized in that at 260° C. and shear rate of 10 s−1 it has a melt viscosity of 5500 to 900 Pas, and in that at 260° C. and shear rate of 1000 s−1 it has a melt viscosity of 880 tom 1500 Pas, and in that it has a melt flow index (MFR) of 0.1 to 3.0 g/10 min. A container made of the polycarbonate exhibits great breaking strength.

The article contains a base layer that contains at least one thermoplastic resin and a second layer containing a thermoplastic (co)polyformal superimposed over the base layer. The (co)polyformal conforms to formulae (1a) or (1b), in which O-D-O and O-E-O independently denote a diphenolate group, -D- and -E- independently denote an aromatic group having 6 to 40 C atoms, k is a whole number from 1 to 1500 and m is z/o and n is (o-z)/o wherein z is 0 to o. The multi-layer article that may be prepared by co-extrusion exhibits improved properties.

摘要： A thermoplastic molding composition stabilized against .gamma.-rays and its application for manufacture of medical equipment is disclosed. The composition contains an aromatic polycarbonate and(i) dialkyl and/or dicycloalkyl monosulfides or polysulfides in an amount of 0.001 to 5 weight %, and optionally(ii) aliphatic or cycloaliphatic monoalcohols or polyalcohols or their derivatives in an amount of 0.001 to 2 weight %said percent being relative to 100 weight % of aromatic polycarbonate.
