摘要: A device is provided for controlling the nitric oxide levels within the lungs of a subject. The device comprises a detector for detecting the respiration cycle of the subject and a stimulator for applying an acoustic or vibratory stimulus to the subject. The stimulator is controlled in dependence on the detected respiration cycle. In particular, acoustic stimulation may be provided at the onset of inspiration. In this way, the nitric oxide flow can be controlled in a way to ensure that the paranasal nitric oxide is nearly fully inspired. This provides a higher nitric oxide concentration in the lung/alveoli.

摘要: A computer-implemented method (100) of producing a sleep evaluation for a user for use with a sleep therapy is disclosed. The method comprises, with a processor arrangement (12), receiving (122) a perceived value of a sleep parameter from the user, said sleep parameter corresponding to sleep behavior of said user at a point in time during said sleep therapy; receiving (124) sleep monitoring data from an electronic sleep monitor, said sleep monitoring data incorporating an objective value of said sleep parameter at said point in time; and, in case of the perceived value being different to the objective value, processing the sleep monitoring data such as to augment (132) said objective value into a further value of said sleep parameter to reduce the discrepancy between the perceived value and the objective value; and producing (134) a sleep evaluation output for the user comprising at least the further value of said sleep parameter. Also disclosed is a computer program product for implementing such a method (100) on a processor arrangement (12) and a sleep monitoring system (1) adapted to implement such a method (100).

摘要: The present disclosure relates to a system (60) for monitoring a state of well-being of an individual, the system (60) comprising a remotely operating sensing unit (30) comprising at least one image sensor (32, 34) arranged to remotely monitor a skin portion of a user, a close-up sensing unit (56) provided at a hand-held personal care appliance (40), the close-up sensing unit (56) being arranged to monitor a physiological signal of the user, wherein the monitoring of the physiological signal is temporally aligned with the remote monitoring of the skin portion of the user, and a control unit (70) arranged to process first sensor data provided by the remotely operating sensing unit (30) and second sensor data provided by the close-up sensing unit (56), wherein the control unit (70) is arranged to process, based on the processed first sensor data and second sensor data, at least one well-being parameter, and wherein the control unit (70) is arranged to provide, based on the at least one processed parameter, well-being information that is indicative of a current stress level of the user. The disclosure further relates to a corresponding method of monitoring a state of well-being of an individual.

摘要: Presented are concepts for managing a blood-pressure variation of a patient. One such concept provides a method comprises the step of determining a target exercise intensity for the patient based on an obtained measure of diurnal blood pressure dip of the patient. The method also comprises determining a target exercise timing for the patient based on an obtained measure of the circadian rhythm the patient. In this way, a target exercise intensity and target exercise timing may be determined and communicated to the patient for the purpose of managing or controlling a blood pressure variation through the combined timing and intensity of physical exercise.

摘要: There is provided a method for use in determining whether a subject is allergic to a substance. The method comprises: receiving a first set of spatially distributed light intensity values covering a skin region of the subject including a location at which the substance has been applied; wherein the light intensity values in the first set are intensities of visible light; receiving a second set of spatially distributed light intensity values covering the skin region, wherein the light intensity values in the second set are intensities of infrared, IR, light; generating a first spatial distribution of photoplethysmogram, PPG, pulse amplitudes based on the first set of light intensity values; generating a second spatial distribution of PPG pulse amplitudes based on the second set of light intensity values; comparing the first spatial distribution to the second spatial distribution, and to the location at which the substance has been applied; and outputting an indication of whether the subject is experiencing an allergic reaction to the substance based on the comparing.
