    Abstract: A resin composition (E) includes from 0.1 to 20 parts by mass of an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (B), from 0.1 to 20 parts by mass of an acid-modified polyolefin (C), and from 0.1 to 10 parts by mass of an acid-modified polyolefin (D) based on 100 parts by mass of a polyolefin (A), wherein the polyolefin (A) has an MFR (190° C., under a load of 2.16 kg) from 0.01 to 10 g/10 min, the acid-modified polyolefin (C) has an acid value from 0.1 to 9 mg KOH/g, the acid-modified polyolefin (D) has an acid value of more than 10 mg KOH/g and 120 mg KOH/g or less, and a ratio (D/A) of an MFR (190° C., under a load of 2.16 kg) of the acid-modified polyolefin (D) to the MFR (190° C., under a load of 2.16 kg) of the polyolefin (A) is 50 or more. The resin composition (E) of the present invention causes reduction in the amount of deteriorated materials adhering to a screw and/or a die even when long-term continuous melt molding is conducted. Use of the resin composition (E) also allows production of a molded article exhibiting excellent impact resistance and appearance. The production method of the present invention allows long-term stable production of the resin composition (E).

    Abstract: A resin composition superior in stability and external appearance characteristics during/following melt molding; and an extrusion-molded article, an injection-molded article and a blow-molded article that are formed from the resin composition are provided. The resin composition contains an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer as a principle component, and has a heterogeneous nucleation index (f) of less than 0.6 as determined by formula (1) based on a differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) curve obtained by DSC in which the resin composition is cooled at a rate of 150° C./sec from a molten state at 210° C. In the formula (1), Qtotal represents an area of a total region surrounded by the DSC curve and a base line, and Qhetero represents an area of a heterogeneous region that is a part of the total region, falling within a range from the temperature lower than the melting point by 38° C. to a temperature lower than the melting point by 75° C. f=Qhetero/Qtotal  (1)

    Abstract: A hot-water sterilized package includes a container having a barrier layer filled with contents, wherein the barrier layer contains 96 mass % or more of a modified ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer based on the resin total, the modified ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer is represented by a following formula (I), contents (mol %) of a, b, and c based on the total monomer units satisfy following formulae (1) through (3), a degree of saponification (DS) defined by a following formula (4) is 90 mol % or more, and in measurement using a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), crystalline melting enthalpy (ΔHA: J/g) during temperature rise in a hydrated state and crystalline melting enthalpy (ΔHB: J/g) during temperature rise after drying and melting followed by rapid cooling satisfy following formulae (5) and (6). A container constituting such a package has excellent in oxygen barrier properties even after hot-water sterilization, and thus degradation of content quality is inhibited for a long period.

    Abstract: There is provided a geomembrane consisting of a multilayer structure comprising a barrier layer (A), an adhesive layer (B) made of an acid-modified thermoplastic resin and a thermoplastic resin layer (C), wherein the thermoplastic resin layer (C) is laminated on at least one side of the barrier layer (A) via the adhesive layer (B), and the barrier layer (A) has an ethylene unit content of 18 mol % or more and 55 mol % or less and comprises a modified ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer comprising a modifying group having a primary hydroxyl group. The geomembrane exhibits excellent peer strength between the barrier layer and the adhesive layer, exhibits further improved peel strength after prolonged exposure to high temperature and high humidity conditions.
