摘要: The invention provides an apparatus and a method of processing a biological and/or chemical sample in a liquid droplet. The apparatus comprises a processing compartment, which is defined by a reservoir and an immobilisation member. The processing compartment is further adapted to accommodate a medium, which is immiscible with the liquid droplet, and of a lower surface energy than the liquid of the liquid droplet. The reservoir is defined by a circumferential wall and a base. The immobilisation member is arranged within the reservoir and comprises a surface that is patterned in such a way that it comprises at least one predefined immobilisation area. The predefined immobilisation area within the patterned surface is of a higher surface energy than the medium. Furthermore the at least one predefined area is of a higher surface energy than the remaining surface and of a sufficient width in the plane of the surface to allow, in said hydrophobic medium, the immobilisation of the liquid droplet on the hydrophilic area via hydrophilic-hydrophilic or hydrophobic-hydrophobic interactions. The remaining surface is of at most about the same surface energy as the medium. In the method of the invention the medium is disposed into the apparatus, such that the predefined immobilisation area is entirely covered by the medium. The liquid droplet is disposed onto the predefined immobilisation area, whereby the liquid droplet is immobilised thereon via hydrophilic-hydrophilic or hydrophobic-hydrophobic interactions. A process is performed on the biological and/or chemical sample in said liquid droplet.

摘要: A method and apparatus to proxy notification service connections between a mobile client and a notification server. In one embodiment of the invention, a proxy receives a proxy setup request for the notification service from the mobile client. The proxy further establishes a notification connection with the notification server for the mobile client and maintains the notification connection without waking an application processor of the mobile client. The proxy receives a notification from the notification service and forwards the notification to the mobile client.

摘要: A method of iteratively adjusting a color of light emitted by a light source includes setting a weighted target color to an initial color of a light emitted by a light source. The method further includes determining a target color of the light by a color controller to iteratively adjust a color of the light to the target color of the light. The method also includes determining an updated weighted target color as a combination of a portion of the weighted target color and a portion of the target color. The method further includes adjusting the color of the light by the color controller to the weighted target color.

摘要: Aspects of the present invention include methods for determining a transplant category of a subject having a transplant. Common mechanisms of rejection injury are uncovered across different tissue transplants, and provide a means to understand rational drug design. Various sources of tissues are examined form the patient for understanding AR mechanism (graft biopsy), as well as monitoring by minimal invasive means (blood) or non-invasive means (urine for the kidney allograft). For biomarker discovery different categories of markers are examined such as genes, proteins, peptides and antibodies. These biomarkers can help determine the subject's transplant category (e.g., acute allograft rejection (AR), stable allograft (STA), BK viremia, BK nephritis, drug toxicity or chronic allograft injury (CAI), and the like). Also provided are compositions, systems, kits and computer program products that find use in practicing the subject methods. The methods and compositions find use in a variety of applications.
