    摘要： The present disclosure concerns methods, compositions and apparatus for detecting pathogens and/or molecular markers. In a particular embodiment, the pathogen to be detected may be Mycobacterium bovis or any other Mycobacterium species that causes tuberculosis in a mammal. However, the disclosed methods are not limited and virtually any type of pathogen and/or molecular marker may be screened and detected. Preferred embodiments comprise reflex supplemental testing using the same assay at approximately 100% sensitivity and the highest possible corresponding sensitivity—in one example 70%. Such assay conditions, used iteratively, result in elimination of 70% of uninfected subjects for each round of testing. Use of 4 or more rounds of testing results in less than 1% error. Since only positive samples are retested, the methods provide a rapid, inexpensive and highly accurate way to detect infected subjects.

    摘要： A personal body ventilation system includes a battery powered blower for providing air under pressure to the interior of a disposable garment formed by an inner air impervious layer and an outer air impervious layer. Porous-to-air open celled foam is incorporated into the garment at areas where cooling is desired and provides porous surfaces adjacent the body of the wearer from which the air under pressure in the interior of the garment may be directed against the body of the wearer. The system includes a filter arrangement in which a filter incorporated in the garment filters the ambient air prior to being drawn into the blower. The blower, the ouput of which is coupled to the garment in the rear by an elliptical connection, includes miniature radial turbine fans operating under a variable speed control. The circulated air may be heated or cooled or treated in various manners such as filtering or humidifying/dehumidifying to meet the requirements of the specific user environment.

    摘要： This invention is directed to a protective headgear system which includes a relatively light weight, substantially rigid, headgear structure which may include an internal, adjustable headband. The system includes at least one filter which is attachable to the headgear structure to cover the structure and a filter protector mounted thereon. A fan mechanism is mounted on the headgear structure to draw air into the headgear structure through the filter means. A power supply selectively powers the fan. A facial shield is attachable to the headgear structure to cover the face of the wearer to maintain non-contaminating conditions relative to the wearer. A flexible cuff or hood is attachable to the facial shield to enclose the lower opening of the lens and provides protection for the wearer through which air can be exhausted.

In certain embodiments, the claimed methods may comprise adding two or more markers to a liquid or food product, releasing the product into a stream of commerce, obtaining one or more samples purported to be the liquid or food product and assaying the samples for the presence of the markers, wherein the absence of at least one of the markers indicates that the product is counterfeit, fake or otherwise not authentic.
