The control slit and the control groove are rotatable relative to each other, and the control groove has at least one control edge, which overlaps the control slit and is formed at an angle relative to the axis of rotation. The control slit is arranged in a guide sleeve and the control groove is arranged in a rotatable sleeve mounted in the guide sleeve with the rotatable sleeve being arbitrarily shifted relative to the guide sleeve. A connecting tube is arranged between the rotatable sleeve and the mounting axis of the air metering device, by means of which the metered fuel can be fed to a nozzle arranged on the air flow rate meter. For a better mixture spreading effect, air can be fed to the metered fuel through a filter composed of a fine-meshed web.

The fuel injection system includes metering valves actuatable by means of an air flow measuring device, at which valves a pressure difference can be held constant via control valves and the pressure difference is variable in accordance with operational characteristics of the engine. To this end, the control valves are located on a control pressure line in which a control throttle and an electromagnetic valve are disposed. At the same time, pressure limitation elements communicate with the control pressure line and, in the event of acceleration of the engine, reduce the extent of increase of control pressure and thus assure fuel metering corresponding with the operational state of the engine.

The regulating apparatus comprises a pressure-regulating valve which sets the fuel pressure, the closing force of which on the movable valve part is influenced by a temperature-dependent element by means of a relay device and a regulating spring coaxially correlated therewith. Accordingly in a predetermined temperature range, the temperature-dependent element and the movable valve part are connected only by the regulating spring.

Known tank flanges have a main filter which has a filter housing with an inlet and an outlet, and a first connecting duct for connecting the main filter to a feed unit. The filter housing is integrated in the tank flange, and filter fabric is inserted into the filter housing and the filter housing is closed off by a filter cover. The inlet of the filter housing is connected to the pressure side of a feed unit and the outlet leads to an internal combustion engine. A disadvantage is that, in order to exchange the filter fabric, the large-area filter cover must be opened, as a result of which a large amount of fuel vapor is dissipated to the atmosphere. In the case of the tank flange according to the invention, the exchangeability of the main filter is simplified by virtue of the main filter being embodied as a filter cartridge. It is provided according to the invention that the inlet of the main filter extends into the first connecting duct of the tank flange and therein forms a sealed connection.
