Abstract: A piezoelectric resonator unit that includes a base, a piezoelectric resonator mounted on the base member, and a cover that is bonded to the base and that collectively forms an inner space that accommodates the piezoelectric resonator. The cover includes a top surface that faces the base with the piezoelectric resonator interposed therebetween, and a side wall that extends in a direction that intersects a main surface of the top surface. The piezoelectric resonator unit is designed so that the thickness of the top surface is larger than the thickness of the side wall.

Abstract: A resonator with stabilized resonant frequency that includes a lower electrode, a plurality of upper electrodes, and a piezoelectric film disposed between the lower electrode and the plurality of upper electrodes. Moreover, an upper lid having a first and second opposing surfaces is provided so that the first surface faces and seals a first surface of the resonator. In addition, a lower lid having a first and second opposing surfaces is provided so that the first surface faces and seals a second surface of the resonator. The resonator further includes a power terminal electrically connected to the upper electrodes and a ground terminal provided on the second surface of the upper lid. The lower electrode is electrically connected to the ground terminal by the upper lid.

Moreover, the resonator includes a protective film made of an insulator and disposed opposing the upper surface of the piezoelectric film with the first electrode interposed therebetween. Furthermore, a conductive film made of a conductor is provided that is disposed opposing the upper surface of the piezoelectric film with the protective film interposed therebetween, where the conductive film is electrically connected to any one of the first and second electrodes.
