Abstract: An in-wheel motor drive device includes an electric motor section, a speed reducer section, a wheel bearing section, and a casing. The speed reducer section includes a speed-reduction structure using a parallel shaft gear. The parallel shaft gear includes an input shaft, which is coupled to the electric motor section, an input gear, at least one intermediate shaft including input-side and output-side intermediate gears, an output shaft, which is coupled to the wheel bearing section, and a final output gear. The input, intermediate, and output shafts are supported by rolling bearings to be rotatable. At least two rolling bearings configured to support the intermediate and output shafts on an out-board side and two rolling bearings configured to support the intermediate and output shafts on an in-board side are arranged at positions at which respective bearing widths are prevented from being superimposed with each other in an axial direction.

Abstract: An in-wheel motor drive device includes a wheel hub bearing unit and a speed reduction unit that decelerates rotation of a motor unit and transmits decelerated rotation to a wheel. A suspension bracket has an upper connecting seat portion connectable with a suspension device, a lower connecting seat portion connectable with the suspension device, and an intermediate area connecting a vehicle rear part of the upper connecting seat portion and a vehicle rear part of the lower connecting seat portion. A notch is provided between a vehicle front part of the upper connecting seat portion and a vehicle front part of the lower connecting seat portion on a front side of the vehicle of the intermediate area. The suspension bracket is attached/fixed to a casing of the speed reduction unit and/or a fixed wheel such that an axis of the wheel hub bearing unit passes through the notch.

Abstract: A cooling structure for an inverter (31) controls a motor (6) to drive an automobile. This inverter device (22) includes a power circuit section (28) having an inverter (31) to convert a DC power of a battery (19) to an AC power for the motor (6), and a casing (39) enclosing the power circuit section (28). A fin (41) is provided in an outer surface of the casing (39), a coolant path (42) for the flow of a cooling medium is provided within the casing (39) or in the outer surface thereof, and a pump (43) circulating the cooling medium in the coolant path (42) is disposed in the casing (39). With this structure, the flow resistance for cooling the inverter (31) is reduced to allow the pump (43) to be downsized and a proper cooling can be accomplished to the amount of heat by the inverter (31).

Abstract: A wheel driving device is proposed in which it is possible to prevent vibration of an internal gear due to torque transmitted to the internal gear from being transmitted to a speed reducer casing. The wheel driving device includes a speed reducer for transmitting the rotation of an electric motor to a hub ring supporting a vehicle wheel after reducing its speed. The speed reducer is a cycloid speed reducer including an external gear, and an internal gear meshing with the external gear and rotationally fixed to the speed reducer casing through a rotationally fixing arrangement which is also capable of elastically supporting the internal gear. The rotationally fixing arrangement absorbs, by elastic deformation, vibration of the internal gear due to torque transmitted from the external gear to the internal gear, thereby preventing the vibration of the internal gear from being transmitted to the speed reducer casing.
