摘要: Compositions are described for detecting binding of an analyte to a binding partner attached to a nucleic acid hybridization switch probe that includes first and second arm sequences and a support sequence that is at least partially complementary to both arm sequences, allowing the probe under hybridization conditions to form a first conformation in the absence of the analyte and to form a second conformation in the presence of the analyte, and a label associated with the probe that produces a signal that indicates the conformation of the probe. Methods are described for detecting an analyte that forms a specific binding pair with the binding partner attached to the hybridization switch probe, thereby changing the probe from a first to a second conformation that results in a detectable signal that indicates the presence of the analyte in the sample.

摘要: A scaffolding assembly adapted to be releasably attached to an elongate support member such as an overhead pipe. The scaffolding assembly has a split collar and a platform assembly adapted to be releasably attached to the split collar. The split collar comprises at least two segments which can encircle the pipe and be secured to one another. The platform assembly which includes a platform deck has a connector formation which extends laterally outwardly from the deck to an extent that it can engage a receiving formation on the collar assembly and thereby attach the platform assembly to the collar assembly.

摘要: A method of manufacturing a flat bottom pouch from a single continuous sheet of webbing comprises unwinding the continuous sheet of webbing and forming an outwardly extending transverse lap seam. The unwound webbing is asymmetrically folded to form a folded sheet defining front and back panels. The folded sheet defines a first section and a second section having a folded edge therebetween, wherein the first section includes a first distal edge, and wherein the second section includes a second distal edge. The folded edge is pushed between the first and second sections to form a first side gusseted panel. A portion of the second section is folded between the first and second sections to form a second side gusseted panel. A transverse end seal is formed proximate the lap seam thereby defining a bottom gusseted panel and the first edge is sealed to the second edge to complete the pouch.

摘要: A method of manufacturing a roll of bottom gusseted pouches serially connected in a top-to-bottom end orientation is provided. The method comprises unwinding a pouch webbing in a first flow direction, the pouch webbing defining front and back panels of a respective pouch; inserting a gusset webbing between the panels in a second flow direction; attaching the gusset webbing to the panels to form the bottom gusseted end of the pouch; inserting a closure mechanism between the panels in a third flow direction; attaching the closure mechanism to the panels to form the resealable top end of the pouch; sealing the side edges of the panels to complete the pouch; winding the completed pouch onto the roll; and repeating these steps to form the other bottom gusseted pouches in the roll. At least one of the pouch webbing and the gusset webbing is formed of a supported film.

摘要: An osteoinductive demineralized bone matrix, corresponding osteoimplants, and methods for making the osteoinductive demineralized bone matrix are disclosed. The osteoinductive demineralized bone matrix may be prepared by providing demineralized bone and altering the collagenous structure of the bone. The osteoinductive demineralized bone matrix may also be prepared by providing demineralized bone and compacting the bone, for example via mechanical compaction, grinding into a particulate, or treatment with a chemical. Additives such as growth factors or bioactive agents may be added to the osteoinductive demineralized bone matrix. The osteoinductive demineralized bone matrix may form an osteogenic osteoimplant. The osteoimplant, when implanted in a mammalian body, may induce at the locus of the implant the full developmental cascade of endochondral bone formation including vascularization, mineralization, and bone marrow differentiation. The osteoinductive demineralized bone matrix may also be used as a delivery device to administer bioactive agents.
