    摘要: The inventions provided herein relate to compositions, methods, delivery devices and kits for repairing or augmenting a tissue in a subject. The compositions described herein can be injectable such that they can be placed in a tissue to be treated with a minimally-invasive procedure (e.g., by injection). In some embodiments, the composition described herein comprises a compressed silk fibroin matrix, which can expand upon injection into the tissue and retain its original expanded volume within the tissue for a period of time. The compositions can be used as a filler to replace a tissue void, e.g., for tissue repair and/or augmentation, or as a scaffold to support tissue regeneration and/or reconstruction. In some embodiments, the compositions described herein can be used for soft tissue repair or augmentation.

    摘要: Methods for microfabricating composite materials and composite materials prepared there from are described herein. The sacrificial material can be etched or patterned to create a two-dimensional and/or three-dimensional sacrificial material structure. The resulting sacrificial material structure can be embedded in one or more embedding materials. The sacrificial material(s) are materials whose solubility can be altered by application of a stimulus typically pH, and/or temperature, light, pH, pressure, presence of absence of ions, and combinations thereof. The embedding materials can contain one or more additives that modify one or more properties of the embedding materials, such as degradation properties, porosity, mechanical properties, viscosity, conductive properties, and combinations thereof. The composite materials can be used in tissue engineering, drug screening, toxin detection, drug delivery, filtrations, bioseparations, and as microfluidic devices for fluid mixing and structural repair.

    摘要: Method of manufacturing hydrogel microparticles comprising one or more species of living cells attached thereon and/or encapsulated therein is provided. The method includes dissolving a hydrogel-forming agent in an aqueous medium to form a solution; suspending one or more species of living cells in the solution to form a cell suspension; dispersing the cell suspension into an organic oil to form a microemulsion; and subjecting the microemulsion to conditions that allow the hydrogel-forming agent to form hydrogel microparticles comprising one or more species of living cells attached thereon and/or encapsulated therein. Composition comprising a mixture of a degradable hydrogel and at least one hydrogel microparticle having one or more species of living cells, and method of manufacturing a scaffold for tissue engineering are also provided.
