Abstract:
A flat semi-finished product includes a filled fluoroplastics substrate in the form of a sheet, which is coated at least partially on at least one surface with a soft, thin coating of fluoroplastics. The substrate material of the sheet has a Shore-D hardness of at least 65 and the average layer thickness of the thin sheet coating is at most 20 &mgr;m. A component, in particular a flat gasket, is made from the semi-finished product. A process for the production thereof is also provided.
Abstract:
A metal-reinforced layered composite includes at least one intermediate metal layer. The intermediate metal layer includes at least two at least partially overlapping metal foils which are joined to one another in an overlap region by at least one weld seam. There are no leakage channels and/or no continuous leakage channels at the weld seam of the metal foils in the longitudinal extent of the overlap region. At least one of the weld seams may have a course which at least at one point has a direction component at right angles to the longitudinal extent of the overlap region of the metal foils. The intermediate metal layer may be provided with at least one passage in the overlap region of the metal foils. A gasket, a gasket sheet, a metal layer and a method of manufacturing a layered composite are also provided.
Abstract:
A belt tensioning device for a belt drive having at least one apparatus with a housing, a driveshaft and a belt pulley, as well as an infinite belt for driving the belt pulley. The belt tensioning device includes a base that can be or is firmly connected to the apparatus, exactly one tensioning arm that, relative to the base, is supported so as to be pivotable around a pivot axis and that, via a torsion spring, is supported in the circumferential direction against the base. The belt tensioning device also includes a tensioning roller that, at the tensioning arm, is supported so as to be rotatable around an axis of rotation and serves to tension the belt. When the belt tensioning device is mounted at the apparatus, the pivot axis of the tensioning arm is arranged inside the outer diameter of the belt pulley of the apparatus.
Abstract:
A magnetic field sensor device comprising a substrate having at least a first tilted planar section having a surface normal at a first angle with respect to a surface normal of the substrate, and at least a first magnetoresistive layered structure positioned at the at least first tilted section. Methods for manufacturing magnetic field sensor devices are also presented.
Abstract:
A belt tensioning device having a substantially cylindrical receiving housing and a hub coaxially arranged therein. The receiving housing and the hub are supported so as to be rotatable relative to one another as well as supported by a helical torsion spring so as to be pretensioned relative to one another. A damping device is provided which comprises a circumferentially slotted damping bush and a strip spring adapted to the damping bush, wherein the damping bush rests against the inside of the receiving housing. The strip spring is arranged between the damping bush and the torsion spring. The strip spring and the torsion spring are connected in series, wherein one of the two is supported on the receiving housing and the other one of the two on the hub.
Abstract:
A belt tensioning device has a torsion spring assembly and a damping assembly with a housing with a longitudinal axis A. A torsion spring is positioned in the housing so as to extend coaxially relative to the longitudinal axis A and which, by means of one of its ends, is secured in the housing in a rotationally fixed way. A tensioning arm is supported relative to the housing so as to be oscillatingly rotatable around the longitudinal axis A and is connected to the other end of the torsion spring in a rotationally fixed way. A tensioning roller is supported at a free end of the tensioning arm so as to be rotatable around an axis of rotation B and extending parallel relative to the longitudinal axis A. The damping assembly surrounds the housing coaxially relative to the longitudinal axis A and comprises cylindrical friction face pairs.
Abstract:
The present invention provides treatment methods involving modulating a sirtuin activity and/or a sirtuin mRNA and/or a sirtuin polypeptide level. In some embodiments, the present invention provides treatment methods involving modulating SIRT1 activity and/or SIRT mRNA and/or polypeptide level. The present invention provides methods of inhibiting SIRT1 Tat deacetylase activity. Methods of inhibiting SIRT1 Tat deacetylase activity are useful for treating immunodeficiency virus infections, particularly human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. Thus, the present invention provides methods of treating an immunodeficiency virus infection, generally involving inhibiting SIRT1 Tat deacetylase activity. The present invention further provides methods of identifying agents that modulate sirtuin activity (e.g., SIRT1 activity), particularly ability of sirtuins to interact with (e.g., bind and/or deacetylate) a substrate, e.g., a viral substrate such as a Tat polypeptide. The present invention further provides active agents that modulate sirtuin activity or expression; and compositions, including pharmaceutical compositions, comprising the active agents.
Abstract:
Structures having high height to width ratios may be measured using X-ray techniques, where the surrounding base and the structure are composed of different substances. The technique combines X-ray detection with scanning electron microscope (SEM) beam scanning. The X-ray emission is set to detect the presence of a specific substance which is either in the structure or surrounding the structure.
