    摘要: A boring tool for working a small diameter bore in a workpiece having a shaft of circular cross-section comprising a clamping portion for supporting the tool and a neck portion extending forwardly therefrom. The forward end of the neck portion carries a cutting plate. The cutting plate is located entirely within the circular cross-section of the neck portion, except for a cutting point on such cutting plate which extends somewhat laterally beyond the circular cross-section of the neck portion. The neck portion has a channel of semicircular cross-section which spirals from the front end thereof toward the clamping portion of the shaft, the spiral being in the directions of rotation and of feed of the workpiece with respect to the tool. In a modification, a cuttings breaker is mounted to overlie the cutting plate, extends close to the cutting point and has an axially extending cuttings breaking channel running the length thereof parallel to the axis of the neck portion and opening toward the cutting plate. Such cuttings breaking channel conveys cuttings from the cutting point to the spiral, circular cross-section cuttings channel in the neck portion.

    摘要: The rotary disk for a lathe has near the circumference thereof a plurality of insert-receiving recesses (5) which are circumferentially spaced apart. For each insert-receiving recess (5) there is provided an insert disk (6) which can be removably inserted therein and within which a receiving bore is concentrically arranged. Each insert disk (6) has in the region of the cylindrical receiving bore (8) two diametrically opposite, radially extending screw-threaded bores (9, 10), a clamping screw (11) with a conical recess (12) being screwed into the screw-threaded bore (9) which is located more inwardly with respect to the axis of the rotary disk and a clamping screw (13) with a conical end part (14) being screwed into the screw-threaded bore (10) which is located more outwardly with respect to the said axis. Each tool holder shank (17) which can be inserted into the receiving bore (8) has a transverse bore (18) with a clamping bolt (19) arranged for radial sliding movement therein and is provided at one of its ends with a conical end part (20) and at its other end with a conical recess (21).

Provided in the change head (17) is a connecting pin (19) which extends in the center of the centering recess (18) in the radial direction of movement (V) of the change head (17) and which can be driven by motor means in two opposite directions of rotation and which is limitedly displaceable in its axial direction in the change head (17) and which at its free end is provided with a male screwthread (19c) fitting into the screwthreaded bore (16).

    摘要: A turning tool for use in metal machining having a holder with a first recess for receiving an insert carrier therein. The insert carrier has a second recess for receiving a cutting insert therein. The insert carrier has a planar base face and a generally semicylindrical supporting surface engaging a corresponding semicylindrical support surface in the first recess on the holder. Holding screws are provided for securing the insert carrier to the holder and for securing the cutting insert to the insert carrier. The semicylindrical support surface on the insert carrier is continuous over the side edge thereof and the corresponding semicylindrical support surface in the recess on the holder are both continuous from a base surface to simplify the machining thereof. In addition, the support surfaces effect a good transmitting of forces between the respective components to enhance the durability of the tool.

    摘要: A tool holder with radial adjustment means. The tool holder has a connecting portion having a connecting shank, an intermediate portion and a head portion, and a tool receiving means for a tool, in particular a rotary tool. All three portions (2, 3, 4) are of substantially disc-like configuration and bear against each other with their faces (2a, 3a, 3b, 4a) which extend radially with respect to the axis (A) of the connecting shank. Provided at the periphery of the connecting portion (2) are two diametrally oppositely disposed recesses (8) into which two claws (9) arranged on the intermediate portion engage with radial play. Provided at the periphery of the intermediate portion (3) are two diametrally oppositely disposed recesses (14) which are displaced through 90.degree. relative to the claws (9) and into which two claws (15) disposed on the head portion (4) engage with radial play. A first screwthreaded spindle (11) can be screwed in the connecting portion (2), in a first screwthreaded bore (10) which extends between the two recesses (8) of the connecting portion, the ends (11a, 11b) of the first screwthreaded spindle bearing without play against the claws (9) of the intermediate portion (3). A second screwthreaded spindle (17) can be screwed in the intermediate portion (3) in a second screwthreaded bore (16) extending perpendicularly to the first screwthreaded bore (10) and with its ends bears without play against two diametrally oppositely disposed inside surfaces of the head portion (4). Clamping screws (22, 25) which are in axis-parallel relationship are provided for pressing together the faces (2a, 3a, 3b, 4a) of the three portions (2, 3, 4).

    摘要: An apparatus for supplying a fluid to a passageway in a cutting tool includes a housing having a rotatable spindle thereon, the tool being releasably supported on the spindle for rotation therewith. A cooling medium supply ring rotatably supported on a shank portion of the tool has a first surface which faces substantially radially outwardly and slightly in the direction of rotation of the tool. A coupling head on the housing has a second surface thereon positioned for sealing engagement with the first surface when they are brought into angular alignment through rotation of the supply ring caused by frictional engagement of the supply ring and rotating tool. Fluid passes from a passageway in the coupling head through aligned openings in the first and second surfaces, into passageways in the supply ring, and then through an opening in the shank portion of the tool and into the passageway therein.

    摘要: A machine tool spindle, which serves for interchangeably receiving tool holders (13) having different shanks (8,16), has in the spindle head (1a) thereof a frusto-conical receiving bore (3) for the reception of a steeply tapered conical shank of a first tool holder. The spindle head (1a) is provided with an end surface (4) which surrounds the frusto-conical receiving bore (3). Immediately adjacent this end surface there is provided a mating bore (8), the diameter (D) of which is slightly greater than the theoretical diameter of the frusto-conical receiving bore (3) in the plane of the end surface (4). The axial length of the mating bore (8) is equal to about 10 to 15% of the theoretical diameter. The mating bore (8) serves for the reception of a cylindrical mating extension (15) of the second tool holder (13).
