    Abstract: A battery can has a cylindrical body section, an opening section at one end of the body section, and a bottom section closing the other end of the body section. An annularly grooved portion is formed by constriction near the open end of the opening section. The annularly grooved portion has an upper-groove section as the section closer to the open end than the narrowest section, which is positioned farthest inside, of the grooved portion, and also has a lower-groove section as the section closer to the bottom section than the narrowest section. The wall thickness T1 of the lower-groove section is larger than the wall thickness T2 of the body section.

    Abstract: A cylindrical battery with an opening sealing body which includes a valve member, a metal plate disposed on an inner side of the battery with respect to the valve member, and an annular insulating member interposed between the valve member and the metal plate. The valve member and the metal plate are connected at respective central portions. The metal plate and the insulating member each have communicating holes. The valve member has a thin-walled portion which is deformable when an internal pressure of the battery increases. The insulating member has a section that covers a surface, on the valve member side, of the metal plate, a section that is provided subsequent to the section and covers a circumferential end face of the metal plate, and a section that is provided subsequent to the section and covers a surface, on an inner side of the battery, of the metal plate.

The opening sealing body includes a valve member, a metal plate disposed on an inner side of the battery with respect to the valve member, and an annular insulating member interposed between the valve member and the metal plate. The valve member and the metal plate are connected to each other at respective central portions. The valve member has an annular thin-walled portion which is deformable when an internal pressure of the battery increases, and a recessed portion is formed by the thin-walled portion on the insulating member opposing side of the valve member. The insulating member has a section P1 that covers a surface, on the valve member side, of the metal plate, and the section P1 has a rib to be housed in the recessed portion.

    Abstract: A battery module includes: cells; and a battery holder made of a resin material that contains a filler in a resin matrix. In the resin material of the battery holder, the lower limit of the content of the filler is determined on the basis of the endothermic amount, and the upper limit of the content of the filler is determined on the basis of the viscosity. Another battery module includes: cylindrical cells; and a battery holder having a plurality of tubular first accommodation portions each having a substantially hexagonal hole and a plurality of tubular second accommodation portions each having a substantially polygonal (heptagonal or more) hole. In the battery holder, the first accommodation portions and second accommodation portions are arranged in a manner of log pile by sandwiching a first column including the first accommodation portions between second columns including the second accommodation portions.

    Abstract: A battery module includes: a case body for storing a plurality of cells each having an exhaust gas valve; an exhaust passage for releasing, to the outside of the case body, the high-pressure and high-temperature exhaust gas having come from the cells; and a flow route changing unit that is disposed in the exhaust passage, has a hole for passing the exhaust gas, and elongates the flow route of the exhaust gas from the upstream side to the downstream side of the exhaust passage by changing the flow direction of the exhaust gas a plurality of times in a zigzag manner along at least one of the width and height directions of the exhaust passage. The flow route changing unit includes a plurality of flat plates each having a hole for passing the exhaust gas.
