    摘要: A compound motion cutting device for cutting a work piece includes a tubular member having first and second ends, a pair of operating members and a drive rod having first and second ends and extending longitudinally into the tubular member. One of the operating members is secured to the first end of the tubular member and the first end of the drive rod is secured to the other of the operating members. An anvil is supported proximate the second end of the tubular member and includes a surface for supporting the work piece and a slot extending through the support surface. A cutting member includes a first end pivotally attached to the second end of the drive rod and a cam slot extending laterally therethrough. A pin is supported proximate the second end of the tubular member an extends through the cam slot in the cutting member. Movement of the operating members relative to each other in one direction causes the drive rod to move the cutting member in a first longitudinal direction and the pin and cutting member cam slot cooperate to simultaneously rotate the cutting member toward the anvil and to extend at least partially into the anvil slot to cut the work piece with a combined longitudinal and rotational slicing motion.

    摘要: Among other things, there are disclosed embodiments of an intramedullary nail system for use in pediatric cases, including an intramedullary nail and a targeting assembly. Embodiments of the nail may be one-piece and include a proximal portion, a medial portion and a distal portion. The junction of the medial portion and distal portion is a bend that provides a small angle between the medial portion and the distal portion as viewed when the nail is substantially in a medial-lateral plane. The targeting assembly attaches to the proximal portion of the nail securely and enables easy insertion of fixing screws.

    摘要: A system and method for automatically selecting a translator to translate a component request using semantic typing is presented. A mediator receives a component request from a first component that requests to invoke a second component. The mediator retrieves a launch target identifier and a requester provided property type identifier from the component request. The requester provided property type identifier includes semantic typing corresponding to a data value. The mediator retrieves a recipient input property type identifier corresponding to the launch target identifier, and uses the requester provided property type identifier and the recipient input property type identifier to select a translator. The mediator passes a data value included in the component request to the selected translator, and receives a translated data value from the translator. The mediator constructs a property using the translated data value and includes the constructed property in a call that is sent to the second component.
