    摘要: A paging acknowledgement system is provided for communicating both (1) paging messages and (2) acknowledgement messages to confirm reception of the paging messages. The paging acknowledgement system includes at least one communications system, remote communications devices, and at least one MSC of a CMR system. In response to a paging message from a paging party, the communications system transmits data messages corresponding to the paging message via a communications link. The data message contains the type of data that is normally supplied with a conventional paging message and an acknowledgment code that uniquely identifies said data message. A remote communications device responds to a data message containing its particular address by transmitting an acknowledgment message containing the acknowledgment code to the MSC via a cellular network control channel of the CMR system. The MSC forwards the acknowledgment message to the communications system via a first communications link. The data collection system confirms reception of the data message by comparing the acknowledgment code of the acknowledgment message to the acknowledgment codes associated with the paging messages.

    摘要: Methods and apparatus are provided for communicating data via a cellular network control channel of a cellular mobile radiotelephone system (CMR) data. A data message system for communicating data sources includes sets reporting devices, at least one mobile switching center (MSC) of a CMR system, and a data collection system connected to said MSC via a first communications link. Each recording device monitors a remote data source to obtain selected data and thereafter transmits a data message containing the selected data. The MSC receives data messages via the cellular network control channel from reporting devices operating within coverage areas of the array of cells and forwards the data messages via the first communications link to the data collection system. In response, the data collection system stores the data messages and processes the selected data.

If the size or security requirement is low, a consumer-centric profile may be used for the download even if the vehicle is currently being used. If the download file size is large or requires very high security, or if a user is currently using the computer device according to the consumer-centric profile, the computer device may schedule the download to occur after receiving a trigger event occurrence message.

The baseband processing functions process incoming signaling or data in a received message to determine whether to act further on information in the incoming message by enabling additional processing capability in the mobile device. The mobile device may have permanent template criteria values, either coded in firmware or implemented in hardware, or temporary template criteria values, stored in RAM or processor registers, that are compared to values of an incoming message or datagram from the mobile network to determine whether to perform additional actions, such as awakening an application processor. Multiple templates may co-exist to allow different incoming datagrams to cause the device to take some additional action, respond, or even ignore information in an incoming datagram or message.

    摘要: A vehicle processing device authenticates that an authorized user has requested an action by the vehicle, and generates an authentication acknowledgement message. At least two security devices being present within the cabin of, or close to, the vehicle during a predetermined period following an authentication trigger event that occurs while the user performs a predetermined sequence of authentication activities (i.e., button presses, operating the vehicle or a part of it, etc.) provides a basis for the authentication acknowledgement message. Typically, information unique to each security device has been associated with the vehicle at a service provider's server. The authentication acknowledgement may include an activation code that results from processing the information, unique to each security device, received from the security devices and other random information, such as date. A service provider's server, or a user device, provides services to, or can access, respectively, the vehicle upon receiving the authentication acknowledgement.

    摘要: A system and method for determining an SMS retransmission schedule is provided. When a special error code is received by an SMSC, the SMSC can calculate the response time. The response time is the time that lapsed between forwarding the SMS message for delivery and receiving an error code. If the response time exceeds a response time threshold, the error code can be considered as falsely generated. A special retransmission schedule can be assigned to the SMS message. If the response time does not exceed a response time threshold, a different retransmission schedule can be assigned to the SMS message.

    摘要: A method and system for providing targeted advertisement information to consumers over a wireless communications network. In one embodiment, local advertisers register to advertise on wireless communications devices that are in close proximity to the advertiser. As a consumer enters a cell site that is near the location of the advertiser, the wireless network delivers a message to the wireless device specified by the local advertiser. An acknowledgement signal is then received by the network, and the local advertiser's account is charged for transmission of the advertisement. In a further embodiment, each of the messages stored in the database is also associated with one or more demographic codes, and users of wireless communications device select from one more demographic codes to describe their advertisement preferences. Messages to be transmitted to particular wireless communications devices are selected based upon both the location information and the demographic codes associated with the messages.
