    摘要: This invention relates to a process for making copper wire directly from a copper-bearing material, comprising: (A) contacting said copper-beating material with an effective amount of at least one aqueous leaching solution to dissolve copper ions into said leaching solution and form a copper-rich aqueous leaching solution; (B) contacting said copper-rich aqueous leaching solution with an effective amount of at least one water-insoluble extractant to transfer copper ions from said copper-rich aqueous leaching solution to said extractant to form a copper-rich extractant and a copper-depleted aqueous leaching solution; (C) separating said copper-rich extractant from said copper-depleted aqueous leaching solution; (D) contacting said copper-rich extractant with an effective amount of at least one aqueous stripping solution to transfer copper ions from said extractant to said stripping solution to form a copper-rich stripping solution and a copper-depleted extractant; (E) separating said copper-rich stripping solution from said copper-depleted extractant; (F) flowing said copper-rich stripping solution between an anode and a cathode, and applying an effective amount of voltage across said anode and said cathode to deposit copper on said cathode; (G) removing said copper from said cathode; and (H) converting said removed copper from (G) to copper wire at a temperature below the melting point of said copper.

    摘要: An anode adapted to be immersed in an electrolytic solution adjacent a moving cathode. The anode is comprised of an electrical conductive grid which is clad with an insoluble metal. The grid has a plurality of anode mounting surfaces formed thereon; the mounting surfaces being formed of an insoluble, conductive metal and being in electrically conductive engagement with the conductive grid. The mounting surfaces are dimensioned to position and support side-by-side a plurality of relatively thin insoluble metal anode plates. The anode plates are shaped to be mounted to the mounting surfaces by the lateral edges thereof wherein current may be applied to the anode plates through the mounted edges. The anode plates are dimensioned such that they form a generally continuous anode surface which conforms to the moving cathode.

    摘要: An infinitely variable forward speed mechanical transmission uses asymmetric helical/spur gear trains mounted to rotate within a rotor assembly to reduce the torque output within the rotor assembly through inefficiency of the asymmetric gear trains. The rotor assembly includes integrated input and output hubs having adjacent radially flush outer control surfaces, with the output hub in mesh with the asymmetric helical/spur gear trains in mesh with an output shaft. A transmission speed control device connected to a control gear connected to a control tang of a wrap spring positioned about the control surfaces of the input and output hubs provides infinitely variable control of the relative rotation of the two hubs to selectively control the torque output of the transmission. A planetary gear set in constant mesh with the transmission input through the input hub provides a full-time low-gear ratio, and an attached dual sprague clutch assembly determines the driving output train of the transmission between the planetary gear set and the output shaft.

    摘要: The present invention provides a new and improved titanium metal drum cathode for use in the production of metal foils and a novel method of making the same. The method includes the steps of welding together the ends of a strip of titanium that has been roll formed into a cylinder. During the welding operation some of the weld beads that form the weld are hot peened immediately upon solidification. Upon complete formation of the weld, the formed and welded trip of titanium is subjected to a heat treating cycle that includes a double anneal. Preferably, the strip of titanium metal and the weld metal that is used to form the weld both comprise an addition agent such as yttria.
