The apparatus 115 comprises a chamber, such as a load-lock chamber 110, transfer chamber 115, or process chamber 120. An integrated and local pump 165 is abutting or adjacent to one of the chambers 110, 115, 120 for evacuating gas from the chambers. The pump has an inlet 170 connected to a chamber 110, 115, 120, and an outlet 175 that exhausts the gas to atmospheric pressure. Preferably, the pump 165 comprises a pre-vacuum pump or a low vacuum pump.

摘要： A transaction product assembly includes a transaction product and a supporting backer. The transaction product includes an account identifier, a primary article, and a panel. The account identifier links the transaction product to at least one of an account and a record, and the account identifier is machine readable by a point-of-sale terminal. The primary article defines a substantially planar surface. The panel extends across the substantially planar surface to define a pocket between the panel and the substantially planar surface. The supporting backer is formed separately from the transaction product and includes a flap extending into the pocket to at least partially couple the supporting backer to the transaction product. Other products, assemblies, combinations and associated methods are also disclosed.

摘要： A pipeline bend detector pig for measuring the changes in direction of a pipeline having a first pig body assembly with an imaginary longitudinal axis and spaced apart resilient cups for supporting the pig body assembly in a pipeline so that the axis thereof is at least approximately the axis of the pipeline and for impeding flow of fluid past the pig so that the pig is propelled by fluid flow through the pipeline, and a second pig body assembly also having an imaginary logitudinal axis and means for support thereof within a pipeline so that the axis thereof is at least approximately the axis of the pipeline, a universal joint connecting the front end of the second pig body assembly to the rear end of the first pig body assembly and an integrator plate and finger assembly with the first pig body assembly arranged so that the fingers are deflected upon the deflection of the internal wall of the pipeline to thereby deflect an integrator plate, an instrument responding to the deflection of the integrator plate, and cables connecting at least three of the fingers to points on the second pig body assembly spaced from the longitudinal axis so that as the axis of the second pig body is deflected at an angle relative to the axis of the first pig body, the cables pull on the fingers, deflecting the integrator plate and providing a record of the angular deflection of the second pig body relative to the first pig body which is indicative of a change of direction of the pipeline.

摘要： Apparatus is described that is particularly adapted for suppressing fume generated in the flow of molten metal through the runner system of a blast furnace cast house. Burners adapted for combusting fuel and air are disposed at longitudinally spaced locations along the runner system. Fuel and air in predetermined amounts are discharged from the burners to create flame and disperse it along the axis of the runners. The flame operates to consume ambient air in the combustion process thereby to starve the region over the metal streams of oxygen that would otherwise combine with metal vapors to create fume-producing metallic oxides.

The base member defines a first surface, a second surface opposite the first surface, and a spiral cut extending through the base to define a spiral portion. The spiral portion is stretched to extend in a conic helical form in front of a portion of the first surface defined by a remainder of the base member. The auxiliary member is coupled to the spiral portion opposite the portion of the first surface defined by the remainder of the base member. The account identifier is fixedly connected to one of the base member and the auxiliary member. The account identifier links the transaction card to at least one of an account and a record and is machine readable by a point-of-sale terminal. Other cards, combinations and associated methods are also disclosed.

摘要： Methods and apparatus for the point-of-sale packaging of a card are disclosed. A package in accordance with an exemplary embodiment of the present invention comprises a pocket for receiving the card and a passageway communicating with a pocket. The package preferably also includes at least one locking tab for selectively obstructing the passageway. A method in accordance with present invention may include the steps of inserting the card into the pocket so that the card overlays the at least one locking tab, urging the package to assume a generally bent shape, and allowing the package to assume a generally planar shape in which the at least one locking tab overlays the card.
