Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for simultaneously hosting multiple service providers on a network. A method is provided for hosting multiple service providers in a data network. The method includes controlling access to services offered by one or more service providers, and discovering affiliation provisions associated with a device, wherein the affiliation provisions are associated with one or more selected service providers. The method also includes filtering the services according to the affiliation provisions to generate a package database of services offered by the one or more selected service providers, and transmitting the package database to the device.
Abstract:
This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for limiting handoffs in cellular networks. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine a quantity of handoffs that are performed between two or more radio access technologies (RATs) during a time period. The UE may determine whether the quantity of handoffs exceeds a handoff threshold within the time period. The UE may reduce a rate of handoffs when the UE determines that the quantity of handoffs exceeds the handoff threshold within the time period. The UE also may select one of the RATs to camp on and maintain the wireless connection when the UE determines that the quantity of handoffs exceeds the handoff threshold. The UE may determine which RAT to camp on based on handoff count information, handoff total connection time information, or contextual awareness information.

Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for communication of notifications are disclosed. A disclosed method for communicating notifications from a server to a device includes sending a primary message including data indicating notification status information; and sending notification messages apart from the primary message addressed to specific groups of devices. Similarly, another disclosed method for obtaining notifications in a device from a server includes monitoring the primary message including current notification status information, comparing the current notification information status information with a previous notification status information to determine if a change in notification status information has occurred, and obtaining addressed notification information when a change in the notification status information has been determined. By using a primary message with abbreviated information to communicate whether changes to notification information have occurred without the need for further processing and/or addressed notification messages, system resources can be conserved. Corresponding apparatus are also disclosed.
Abstract:
An asset tag for monitoring usage of an electronic asset includes a usage monitor configured to monitor usage of the electronic asset and a transmitter configured to transmit an indication of the usage of the electronic asset. The asset tag may include a socket configured to receive a first plug, wherein the first plug comprises a plug of the electronic asset; a second plug electrically coupled to the socket, wherein the second plug is configured to transmit current to the socket; and, a power source configured to power the usage detector.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are described herein for asset location using relay tags. A method for asset location via a relay tag as described herein includes receiving, at the relay tag, an asset message from an asset tag according to a wireless communication protocol, wherein the relay tag has a known location; producing, at the relay tag, a relay message using information contained in the asset message, wherein the relay message includes an indication of the relay tag from which the relay message is sent and an indication of the asset tag from which the asset message was received; and sending the relay message from the relay tag to a receiver using the wireless communication protocol.
Abstract:
An example method of asset tracking includes receiving, from each of one or more positioning devices, a corresponding position identification (ID) value, determining a tier value associated with each received position ID value, determining asset position information based on each received position ID value and each determined tier value, and transmitting the determined asset position information to a receiver.

Abstract:
Systems and methods include broadcasting an entitlement management message (EMM) in a communication system using a scheduled delivery window. The systems and methods including receiving a EMM broadcast window from a distribution system, listening for the EMM during the EMM broadcast window, and receiving the EMM from the distribution system during the EMM broadcast window.
Abstract:
A method of obtaining information for locating an asset includes: listening, at an asset tag, for a first listen duration for landmark messages; receiving, at the asset tag during the first listen duration, at least one landmark message from each of one or more landmark tags; selecting a synched landmark tag from the one or more landmark tags; abstaining from listening, at the asset tag, for landmark messages until approximately a subsequent transmission time of a synched landmark message corresponding to the synched landmark tag; and waking up at approximately the subsequent transmission time of the synched landmark message to listen, at the asset tag, for landmark messages for a second listen duration such that the asset tag listens for the landmark messages during the subsequent transmission time; wherein the first listen duration is longer than the second listen duration.
