摘要: A filter capacitor comprising a pre-sintered substrate supporting alternating active and ground electrode layers segregated by a dielectric layer is described. The substrate is of a ceramic material that maintains its shape and structure dimensions even after undergoing numerous sintering steps. Consequently, relatively thin active and ground electrode layers along with the intermediate dielectric layer can be laid down or deposited by a screen-printing technique. Using a relatively thin over-glaze in comparison to a thick upper dielectric layer finishes the capacitor. Consequently, a significant amount of space is saved in comparison to a comparably rated capacitor or, a capacitor of a higher rating can be provided in the same size as a conventional prior art capacitor. The pre-sintered ceramic substrate is used instead of conventional tape cast technology for the base dielectric.

摘要: A filter capacitor comprising a substrate of at least one layer of a low temperature co-fires ceramic (LTCC) tape supporting alternating active and ground electrode layers segregated by a dielectric layer is described. The substrate is preferably a laminate of three LTCC tapes pieces that are heated under pressure and at a relatively low temperature to become a laminate that maintains its shape and structure dimensions even after undergoing numerous sintering steps. Consequently, relatively thin active and ground electrode layers along with the intermediate dielectric layer can be laid down or deposited on the LTCC substrate by a screen-printing technique. A second laminate of LTCC tapes is positioned on top of the active/dielectric/ground layers to finish the capacitor. Consequently, a significant amount of space is saved in comparison to a comparably rated capacitor or, a capacitor of a higher rating can be provided in the same size as a conventional prior art capacitor.

摘要: A brazed aluminum alloy structure is formed that includes a first component formed of an aluminum alloy sheet, a second metal sheet component formed of an aluminum alloy and a braze fillet metallurgically bonding a faying surface of the first component to a faying surface of the second component. The braze fillet is composed of a hypoeutectic aluminum silicon alloy comprising between 0.005 and 0.045 weight percent strontium. The strontium addition produces a microstructure characterized by coral-like silicon particles that improve corrosion resistance.

摘要: A process for producing a black oxide coating on an aluminum or aluminum alloy component in which the process entails a single treatment step with a novel solution to rapidly produce the desired black oxide coating. The process includes cleaning the surface to be coated and then, without first undergoing anodization, treating the surface with a solution that develops a black oxide on the surface. The reactive component of the solution comprises distilled water containing chlorides, sulfates and bicarbonates of sodium salts. The remainder of the solution includes a catalyst and a substance for maintaining the pH of the solution at a level sufficient to promote the reaction between the surface of the aluminum alloy and the reactive constituents.

摘要: The invention is applied to a compressor assembly wherein a coating is applied to the pocket in the piston for sliding engagement with a shoe for reciprocating the piston. The coating is a composite of solid particles of a lubricant, suspended in an adhesive, bonded to the to the aluminum alloy defining the pocket. More specifically, the coating comprises particles of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) suspended in an epoxy resin having a low cross-linking characteristic. The particles of PTFE are sub-micron in size and the ratio of PTFE to epoxy resin is optimally one to one. The thickness of the coating is between two and ten microns and preferably substantially four microns.

摘要: A piston or similar cylindrical work piece is wear coated with a liquid coating material comprised of a solid component carried by a volatile solvent. The coating material is applied, from a closed reservoir, by a synchronously rotated distribution roller, to a larger diameter coating roller that is continually heated to a temperature sufficient to remove a majority of the solvent. Simultaneously, the piston workpiece is pre heated to a comparable temperature before being engaged with the coating roller under a relatively high pressure. A series of thin, pre dried layers is applied to the workpiece surface sufficient to produce the a final wear layer of a desired final thickness.
