The lock switch and the pull switch as well as the indicating elements are inaccessibly arranged in the belt buckle. From the combination of triggered or untriggered indicating elements, it can be concluded whether the seat belt was put on functionally correctly or had not been put on and whether manipulations took place at the belt buckle by means of electrical signals or mechanical forces.

Influencing the outflow characteristic of the gas flowing out of a pressure vessel into an airbag in a controlled manner during the opening movement of the outflow valve is attained because the outflow valve contains a control body which adjoins the predetermined breaking zone and extends in the direction of the pyrotechnic system and the cross-section of which changes in the axial direction of the outflow valve.
