    摘要: A leak-proof membrane element (1) for the selective separation or cleaning of gas, wherein a metal foil (membrane) (3) is deposited onto a supporting stock (substrate) (2, 20) having connection means (4, 21, 34) on the ends/edges of the substrate allowing the membrane element to be installed in a housing. A metal foil (3), having a thickness of less that 10 micrometers and being selectively permeable for specific gases, is arranged in flakes or wound with overlapping joints (8) on the outside of the substrate (2, 20), any joints being welded together by diffusion bonding so that the foil forms a continuous, leak-proof metal membrane layer. The substrate being made of a material (metal, ceram, polymer, or combinations thereof) exhibiting a very high gas flux for the gas(es) that the membrane is to let through.

    摘要: Method for manufacturing a composite membrane structure comprising a thin metal membrane, for example of silver, palladium or palladium alloys, for use in selective diffusion of gasses. The metal material for the membrane is applied by sputtering as a coating on a base member having a low surface roughness, to a desired thickness of the resulting coating. The coating is pulled off from the base member so as to form the metal membrane, and the metal membrane is placed on a supporting substrate.

    摘要: A process for oxidation of oxidizable materials which are dissolved or suspended in a liquid phase. A contactor in the form of a porous membrane is used. The contactor is designed such that an oxidizing phase flows along one surface thereof while the phase to be oxidized flows along another surface. The oxidation is catalyzed by (i) a catalyst material which constitutes the porous membrane or is deposited in or onto a porous membrane support, or (ii) a catalyst material which is supplied to one or both of the feed streams comprising the oxidizing phase and the phase to be oxidized.
