Abstract: A process for preparing a catalyst material, includes: (a) providing a support material having surface hydroxyl (OH) groups, the support material is ceria (CeO2), zirconia (ZrO2) or a combination, and the support material contains between 0.3 and 2.0 mmol OH groups/g of the support material; (b) reacting the support material with at least one of: (b1) a compound containing at least one alkoxy or phenoxy group bound though its oxygen atom to a metal element from Group 5 (V, Nb, Ta) or Group 6 (Cr, Mo, W); (b2) a compound containing at least one hydrocarbon group bound though a carbon atom to a metal element from Group 5 or 6; (b3) a compound containing at least one hydrocarbon group bound though a carbon atom to a metal element which is copper (Cu); and (c) calcining the product obtained in step (b).

Abstract: A method for preparing a supported Ru and/or Ni catalyst includes mixing a magnesium precursor, a zinc precursor, or a nickel precursor with an aluminum precursor in solid phase to form a first mixture; adding an auxiliary agent to the first mixture to form a second mixture, wherein the auxiliary agent is to increase a specific surface area; calcining the second mixture at a first temperature to obtain a spinel carrier; placing the spinel carrier in a solution of a Ru and/or Ni metal salt to impregnate the spinel carrier with the Ru and/or Ni metal salt to obtain an impregnated carrier; and after drying, calcining the impregnated carrier at a second temperature to obtain the supported Ru and/or Ni catalyst.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a process for preparing a reforming catalyst, said process comprising: (a) impregnating at least one support with at least one promoter metal and at least one active metallic component to obtain a second catalytic precursor; (b) contacting the second catalytic precursor with at least one non-metallic component to obtain a third catalytic precursor; (c) coating the third catalytic precursor with at least one silanizing agent to obtain a coated third catalytic precursor; and (d) drying the coated third catalytic precursor to obtain a dried third catalytic precursor followed by calcination of the dried third catalytic precursor to obtain the reforming catalyst. The present disclosure also provides a reforming catalyst and the process for catalytically reforming a hydrocarbon feed stream by using the reforming catalyst.
