Abstract: Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for selecting a beam in an electronic device. An electronic device includes: a plurality of antennas configured to form beams in different directions; and at least one processor, wherein the at least one processor is configured to: control the plurality of antennas to form a wide beam, determine a transmission beam pattern of a transmitting side through the wide beam, control the plurality of antennas to form a reception beam, and determine a reception beam pattern to be used for receiving a signal from the transmitting side.

Abstract: Various exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a device and a method for controlling a plurality of antennas in an electronic device. The electronic device may include: a plurality of antennas; a communication circuit configured to be connected to the plurality of antennas; and at least one processor, wherein the processor may be configured to: set a multi-antenna service using a second number of antennas; activate the second number of antennas among the plurality of antennas when a time to transmit channel state information comes; transmit channel state information on the second number of antennas to a network device; and switch to activate a first number of antennas among the plurality of antennas and the second number of antennas may include a greater number of antennas than the first number of antennas. Other exemplary embodiments are possible.

Abstract: An electronic device provides low latency communication for an extended reality service. Based on a first value of quality of service (QoS) requested by an extended reality (XR) application stored in the electronic device, a first communication connection corresponding to the first value for receiving data regarding an XR service from an XR server is established. Based on a change of a value of the QoS from the first value to a second value, the first communication connection is maintained, and a second communication connection corresponding to the second value is established. Data regarding the XR service from the XR server is received via the second communication connection. The second communication connection can be a radio access technology (RAT) different from the first communication connection and/or a bearer different from the first communication connection.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) is provided. The instructions, when executed by the UE, cause the processor to check whether an available first synchronization signal is detected, determine whether to operate as a first synchronization reference UE based on whether the first synchronization signal is detected, and transmit first system information comprising an intensity of transmission power and a second synchronization signal comprising a first synchronization identifier if the UE is determined to operate as the first synchronization reference UE.
