Abstract: A blender apparatus is disclosed having a chassis, a mixer positioned on the chassis, and a transfer pump positioned on the chassis. The mixer has a mixer housing defining a first mixer inlet, a second mixer inlet, and a mixer outlet. The first mixer inlet receives a liquid component, and the second mixer inlet receives a dry component. The mixer pressurizes at least the liquid component within the housing and discharges the liquid component through the mixer outlet at a first pressure above hydrostatic pressure. The transfer pump has a pump housing defining a pump inlet, a pump outlet and is devoid of an inlet configured to receive a dry component through a gravity feed. The transfer pump receives the liquid component through the pump inlet, pressurizes the liquid component within the pump housing, and discharges the liquid component through the pump outlet at a second pressure above hydrostatic pressure.

Abstract: A system for managing fiber on-site at an oilfield. The system includes a packing region and a corresponding region which both interface a bulk of the fiber simultaneously. However, the packing region is of a moving character and the corresponding region is of a substantially different character which may or may not be static in nature. Regardless, the difference in character between the adjacent regions allows for a substantially continuous manner of packing fiber. This may be particularly beneficial where the fiber is of a crimped nature or otherwise comparatively light or of low density as may be the case for certain downhole fracturing or cementing applications utilizing the fiber at the oilfield.

Abstract: A choke for fluid connection between a manifold and a pump. The choke includes a fluid passage having an inlet, a contraction portion, a throat, an expansion portion, and an outlet. The inlet has a first diameter and the outlet has a second diameter. The throat is substantially cylindrical, having a third diameter that is substantially less than the first and second diameters. The contraction portion connects the inlet and the throat and gradually decreases from the first diameter to the third diameter along a longitudinal axis of the fluid passage. The expansion portion connects the throat and the outlet and includes a substantially cylindrical chamber having the second diameter.

Abstract: A technique facilitates mixing of cement slurry for use in a cementing application. At least one cement mixer is provided with a tank, e.g. a conical tank, having a powder cement blend inlet and a mixing liquid inlet. A cement slurry discharge may be positioned generally beneath the tank. A mixing assembly also is positioned below the tank and driven by a shaft. The mixing assembly is exposed to an interior of the tank and is used to mix the cement slurry when rotated by the shaft and to direct the cement slurry out through the cement slurry discharge. Additionally, a recirculation system comprises an inlet positioned to receive a portion of the cement slurry mixed in the mixing assembly. The recirculation system also comprises an outlet positioned to direct the portion back into the mixer to enhance mixing effects.
