摘要: Embodiments may include methods that include emplacing a degradable material into a wellbore, wherein the degradable material includes a thermoplastic elastomer; contacting the degradable material with an aqueous fluid downhole; and allowing the degradable material to at least partially degrade. In another aspect, methods may include emplacing into a wellbore a tool containing a sealing element thereon, wherein the sealing element contains a degradable material; engaging the sealing element with a downhole surface to establish a seal; contacting the sealing element with an aqueous fluid; and allowing the sealing element to at least partially degrade, thereby disrupting the established seal.

摘要: In general, the current disclosure relates to multicomponent fibers that have accelerated degradation in water in low temperature conditions, and their various industrial, medical and consumer product uses. Such materials are especially useful for uses in subterranean wells in oil and gas production. In some embodiments, the compositions of materials have accelerated degradation even at Ultra Low Temperature (“ULT”) (≦60° C.) in subterranean formations.

摘要: A stator for a mud motor and methods for manufacturing and using the same, of which one such method includes obtaining a mud motor having a stator made at least partially from a rubber. At least a portion of the rubber is cured by at most about 90%. The method also includes deploying the mud motor into a well as part of a drill string. The rubber is not further cured prior to deploying the mud motor into the well. The method further includes generating torque using the mud motor by pumping a mud through the stator.
