A display device includes: a first substrate; a pixel electrode on the first substrate, the pixel electrode including separately formed first and second sub-pixel electrodes; a first thin film transistor (TFT) connected to the first sub-pixel electrode; a second TFT connected to the second sub-pixel electrode; a third TFT connected to one of the first and second TFTs; a gate line connected to the first, second, and third TFTs; a data line intersecting the gate line and respectively connected to the first and second TFTs; and a storage line, at least a part of the storage line spaced apart from and in parallel with the data line and connected to the third TFT. The first, second, and third TFTs may include a common gate electrode extending from the gate line.

A display apparatus includes a display panel including a display device; and a light transmission control panel disposed to face one side of the display panel and configured to control a transmission amount of visible rays incident from the outside or visible rays generated from the display panel. The light transmission control panel includes a base member; a first electrode disposed on the base member; a second electrode disposed to face the first electrode; a polar fluid disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode, having a hydrophobic or hydrophilic surface characteristic, and having an electric polarity; and a blocking member disposed between the polar fluid and the first electrode, having an opposite surface characteristic to a surface characteristic of the polar fluid, and including a fluid configured to block at least some of the visible rays.

Provided is a display device. The display device includes a display panel including a division pattern including a lower division wiring disposed on a bottom substrate, an upper division wiring disposed on a top substrate, and a short connector and displaying images and a signal controller including a panel recognition unit generating panel data according to a division output signal outputted from the division pattern. As a result, the display device recognizes a location in the mother substrate assembly of the display panel, selects a gamma value according to the display cell symbol, and gamma-corrects image information, thereby improving gamma characteristics of the display device.

A display apparatus includes a plurality of gate lines extending in a first direction, a plurality of data lines extending in a second direction intersecting the first direction, a plurality of auxiliary gate lines extending in the second direction, a plurality of auxiliary data lines extending in the first direction, a display panel including first pixels and second pixels, and a driving part controlling the display panel to display an image. The first pixels are connected to the plurality of gate lines and the plurality of data lines, respectively. The second pixels are connected to the plurality of auxiliary gate lines and the plurality of auxiliary data lines, respectively. The auxiliary gate lines correspond to the gate lines, respectively. Each of the auxiliary gate lines is electrically connected to the corresponding one of the gate lines.

A display device comprising a display area and non-display area is provided. The display device includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a liquid crystal layer, and a connection part. The first substrate includes a first base substrate, a wiring part formed on the first base substrate, and a pixel electrode connected to a portion of the wiring part, the pixel electrode disposed in the display area. The second substrate includes a second base substrate, and a common electrode formed on the second base substrate. The liquid crystal layer is disposed between the first base substrate and the second base substrate. The connection part is formed between the first base substrate and the second base substrate connecting the common electrode and the portion of the wiring part, wherein the common electrode comprises an electric field control pattern formed in the non-display area between the connection part and the display area.
