摘要： An image display apparatus for displaying an image represented by an image signal corresponding to an object and a reproduced image represented by an image signal reproduced from a storage medium includes a display device provided with a first display mode that permits binary image displays at a low-brightness level and at a high-brightness level and a second display mode that permits multi-level image displays at the low-brightness level, the high-brightness level and at an intermediate level. The brightness level in the display device is set to be lower when the display device displays in the first display mode than when the display device displays in the second display mode. Thus, a low power consumption, easy-to-use and long battery life image display apparatus is provided.

摘要： An electronic video camera which picks up an object image and records on a recording medium an image signal corresponding to the object image picked up is arranged to record an information signal indicative of an image pickup sensitivity along with the image signal when the latter is recorded, to reproduce the image signal and the information signal recorded on the recording medium and to control the characteristic of a signal processing action on the reproduced image signal according to the reproduced information signal. The arrangement enables the electronic video camera to effectively prevents image quality deterioration, so that the image signal can be reproduced with a high image quality.

The signal processing apparatus includes first and second signal sources (1 and 2) each of which generates a video signal, reversing unit 7 for reversing the polarity of one of the two video signals, first selector selectively supplying one of the video signals to the reversing unit, first and second display units (3 and 4) for converting the video signals to respective ones of optical signals, and second selector for selectively supplying a video signal whose polarity is or is not reversed by the reversing unit to the first and second display units.
