A method for reporting buffer status of a User Equipment (UE) in a mobile communication system is provided. The method for reporting buffer status of the UE in the mobile communication system includes being allocated a transmission resource from a node B; determining information to add to a certain region of a first Medium Access Control (MAC) subheader through an N-th MAC subheader using the transmission resource; generating a MAC Protocol Data Unit (PDU) by concatenating the first MAC subheader through the N-th MAC subheader with corresponding payload elements; and transmitting the generated MAC PDU.

Disclosed are shutter glasses capable of automatically changing brightness according to image characteristics and allowing a viewer to adjust brightness and a color temperature according to his preference, a method for adjusting light characteristics of the shutter glasses, and a display system employing the same. The shutter glasses adaptive to be used for a three-dimensional (3D) display device. The shutter glasses include: a pair of shutter liquid crystal panels prepared to correspond to user's left and right eyes; and a controller configured to turn on and off the shutter liquid crystal panels at a certain frequency and control light transmittance of the shutter liquid crystal panels by a gamma voltage corresponding to a certain level control signal.

A protrusion of dry-etched pattern of a thin film transistor substrate generated due to a difference between isotropy of wet etching and anisotropy of dry etching is removed by forming a plating part on a surface of the wet etched pattern through an electroless plating method. If the plating part is formed on a data pattern layer of the substrate, the width or the thickness of the data pattern layer may be increased without loss of aperture ratio, the channel length of the semiconductor layer may be reduced under the limit according to the stepper resolution and the protrusion part of the semiconductor layer may be removed. As a result, the aperture ratio may be increased, the resistance may be reduced, and the driving margin may be increased due to rising of the ion current. Furthermore, the so-called water-fall noise phenomenon may be eliminated.

A method and apparatus for transmitting a voice packet through a radio link in a mobile communication system providing a voice service through a packet network inter-working with the Internet are provided, in which a voice packet based on an Internet protocol (e.g. a VoIP packet) is received, the voice packet comprising headers including a User Datagram Protocol (UDP) checksum; the voice packet is verified by using the UDP checksum, to determine if the voice packet has an error; the headers are compressed to construct a header-compressed packet including the UDP checksum and a Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) code calculated for other header fields, except for the UDP checksum from among the headers, when the voice packet has no error, the UDP checksum from the header-compressed packet is deleted to construct a header-compressed packet from which the UDP checksum has been deleted, and the header-compressed packet is transmitted without the UDP checksum through a wireless channel.

A thin-film transistor (TFT) and a method of manufacturing the same are disclosed herein. The TFT may include a gate electrode disposed on an insulating substrate, an insulating layer disposed on the insulating substrate and the gate electrode, an active layer pattern disposed on the insulating layer to overlap the gate electrode, a source electrode disposed on the insulating layer and at least part of which overlaps the active layer pattern, and a drain electrode which is separated from the source electrode and at least part of which overlaps the active layer pattern. A first ohmic contact layer pattern may be disposed between the active layer pattern and the source electrode and between the active layer pattern and the drain electrode. The first ohmic contact layer may have higher nitrogen content on its surface than in other portions of the first ohmic contact layer.

A method and apparatus for transmitting a packet in a mobile communication system. A transmitting side allocates a short sequence number for an initial transmission packet using some bits among bits of a predetermined length for expressing a sequence number of the packet, and sets a first flag indicating use of the short sequence number. The transmitting side inserts the short sequence number and the first flag into the packet, and transmits the packet to a receiving side.

Disclosed is a method and apparatus for transmitting data of a Radio Link Control (RLC) layer in a mobile communication system. Before an RLC SDU stored in a transmission buffer is discarded, a status report for checking a reception status of a receiving side is requested by a polling trigger either when transmission of the RLC SDU has not been completed, or when an RLC SDU discard timer for the RLC SDU approaches the expiration time, thereby enhancing the data transmission performance of the RLC layer.

A method and apparatus for detecting contention in an RA procedure in a mobile communication system is provided in which an L2/L3 message is received from a UE in uplink resources allocated to the UE by an RA preamble response message that was transmitted for an RA procedure initiated by the UE, a CR message associated the RA procedure is transmitted to the UE, if the L2/L3 message is an initial access message, and predetermined control information is transmitted to the UE on a downlink control channel without transmitting the CR message, if the L2/L3 message is not an initial access message.

An imaging apparatus for imaging an object to produce a high resolution picture from video camera using a charge coupled device having a lower resolution includes an optical processor for segmenting into N pieces and extending N times a received optical image, a device for converting each segmented and extended one of the N pieces to a respective electrical signal and a signal processor for reading all of the respective electrical signals in a predetermined order to thereby process the segmented optical image sequentially so that a high resolution image can be obtained without utilizing a high pixel count charge coupled device. A method for forming high resolution images is also disclosed.
